presentation of the Z 1000 Sugomi 2016
The Sugomi spirit took hold of the Z family a few years ago. This concept now takes a more visual place within the range with this special edition of the Z 1000. But what is Sugomi? Not easy to explain, as there's no literal translation. It's akin to an impressive aura, a blend of power, respectability and awe. Something that makes a strong impression on people. Exactly the kind of image the big Z wants to convey.
the kawa roadster is even more aggressive with its black and burgundy red paintwork. But does a belligerent color scheme justify a special designation? Not really. So, the Sugomi edition takes care of its presentation with anodized parts, such as fork caps and fork sleeves, the installation of an Akrapovic carbon exhaust, and edging to highlight the rims.
now that hostilities have begun, all the Z lacks is the opportunity to let its 142-hp 4-cylinder express itself and assert its Sugomi credentials. The watts are there, a little more with the Akra pot, and a minimum of composure is required to avoid getting carried away by the adrenalin. The chassis holds the road, no worries, and the Z 1000 is one of those last monsters not muzzled by electronics. It's up to the rider to be swift and agile, without the aid of traction control, anti-wheeling, anti-I'm-dropping-in-the-air, or several injection maps; only the ABS can invite itself to the challenge. The result is one of the most affordable big streetfighters on the market, here bursting with design and determination.
