Despite the switch to Euro4 standards, the 1290 Super Adventure's big twin has lost none of its firepower, still developing 160hp and 140nm. Still equipped with Ride by wire, traction control, cruise control and combined inertial ABS, the Super Adventure is available this year in three distinct versions: T, S and R.
The R version is unquestionably the most adventurous of the lot. With the same front end as the S, it features large 18" and 21" spoked wheels, an inverted fork with long travel (220mm) in place of the semi-active suspension, a short bubble for improved visibility, and a large tubular rear hugger.
The dry weight is 217kg, compared with 215kg for the S version. It will also be equipped with a watertight pocket with USB port (useful for safely recharging your cell phone), a large color display, a protected, illuminated instrument panel and cruise control.
