Motorcycle specifications KTM640 DUKE II 2006 Supermoto without reproach

Naked

with its insect-like face, the KTM Duke II doesn't go unnoticed. The Austrian brand presents a machine unlike any other. Does it shock you? Good, because you're about to discover an exceptional machine. 17-inch BBS rims, 320 mm brake disc, dual exhaust under the saddle, Magura handlebars, and a 624 cm³ single-cylinder delivering a whopping 55 horsepower. The finish is excellent and, despite its exclusive appearance, the machine is designed to be usable and enjoyable on a daily basis. The engine is smooth and lively, not hesitating to rev, and suffers no loss of power over its range of use. the perfect riding position, firm suspension and short fork travel all encourage sporty, aggressive riding. in this respect, the Duke II is more willing to accept sporty riding, which is rewarded with formidable efficiency. Braking is excellent and has no trouble stopping the 145 kilos of this strange insect. More than a toy, this machine can also be a formidable tool for those who know how to tame it, for the beast is temperamental, but oh so enjoyable.

I bought it new in 1998. I still have it. With a rear suspension adjustment by a specialist, I found my excellent toy even better, she tried Corsica, the Pyrenees, the mountains, the freeway, the city, I keep her. That says it all. Rating : 5/5

I've had my Duke for 1 month, I've just finished breaking it in, it's my first bike and frankly I don't regret my choice!
It's a great bike and every day I discover a little more about it
I'm still getting to grips with it, so much so that its potential is enormous (I'm talking about entering and exiting corners, of course!)
In any case, I love it ;-)

chris, your height is nothing, I'm a guy and I'm only 1m64 Rating : 5/5
French Tom_ktm Model 1998
The duke is a fantastic motorcycle, the ultimate toy, rotting sportbikes on winding roads... Tonio, sorry for you but you can't form an opinion on a stroke of bad luck, there's a rate of bad series among all manufacturers. personally I've had 5 katoches in 7 years and I've never had a problem even with my duke 1 which I sold at 28000Km but if you think Japanese bikes never break... Rating : 5/5
French Chris Model 1998
Well, I'm just waiting for next spring so I can buy MY Duke. All black... I dream about it at night. For me, its only flaw is the seat height. Well, I'm a 1m68 chick... Rating : 5/5
French Dest Model 1998
What a joy to ride, and what a face! (especially in Arctic white (2002)) and the sound with the prepared line, râââââh lovely... I keep it as long as I can, and when I change it, it's when I have money for something bigger! Rating : 5/5
French jean pierr Model 1998
i've always dreamed of a great biker but it's the capacity of the bobonne that has always made me hesitate to call for headlights Rating : 5/5
French novice duk Model 1998
good accelerations.nervous.precise.......
good braking.it vibrates..but you get used to it..it lives like an engine..let yourself be taken in by it in moderation..lightning engine...

as on all forums I think there are never 2 people in agreement but frankly the dukeII is a great bike whatever people say. I think that these people have never tried it and that they just have the balls compared to the price certainly it is expensive but except if it ends up broken in 2 in the arms of a large bourrin I think that the price is carrement worth the candle vive la wache , dukeII powaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! Rating : 5/5
French AC DC Model 1998
It's good stuff, that's for sure, but we're still a long way from the S M enjoyment achieved on a Vertemati, a Vor, a Monnier or even a Husaberg
Rating : 5/5

French tschell Model 1998
haaaaaa, the Duke. Or should I say MY Duke. One of the most beautiful motorcycles in existence. An engine that's generous with sensations. A real bike. A bit temperamental, of course, but it's so much less smooth than a Japanese bike! In short, I love my Duke (a 2002 model, which I've been pampering ever since) and I'm not about to change it! Long live the big Austrian mono :-)!!!! Rating : 5/5
French adrien Model 1998
it's klr! it's a blast to ride! it goes off at the briefest acceleration, it rips your arms off with its monstrous torque and it's beautiful too! :) but, like all motorcycles, it requires maintenance. Rating : 5/5
French pellou Model 1998
Totally agree, the single-cylinder, there's nothing better!!!! Pleasure guaranteed! Rating : 5/5
French Kheops Model 1998
I totally agree with seb and Blanka, you MUST try mono ;o) Rating : 5/5
French Blanka Model 1998
I agree with Seb, it's a killer bike... A bon entendeur Rating : 5/5
lofofora have you ever tried a single cylinder packed with torque and power in your life? because if you had, you'd immediately throw away your multi-cylinder!!! you're the type to have 100 hp, to open wide on the freeway and go well over the speed limit but that's rubbish....it's better to use 100% of 50 hp than 50% of 100 hp Rating : 5/5
French Tonio Model 1998
I was rather Japanese and then I crossed the step, I bought a beautiful dukeII and since much pleasure especially in town and on small roads but especially.... a lot of EMMERDES !!!! of the electric problems, all devisse and makes the malle. But that's not the worst of it...have a look here: http://www.17pouces.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10170 The frame broke in 2!!! So on a 8000 euros bike with only 4000 km, it's a shame. Unfortunately, I think I'll be going back to japs.... Tonio, angry with KTM Rating : 5/5
French LOFOFORA Model 1998
It's very pretty, but what's the point of this kind of bike? You might as well go mountain biking, it's the same without the noise and pollution Rating : 5/5
