presentation of the LC4-E 640 ADVENTURE 1999
kTM has built up a fine reputation with its Dakar machines, which are now THE benchmark for sand dunes. L\'Adventure is in the same vein, and makes no secret of its vocation for long-distance touring. With a 28-liter fuel tank and all the equipment of an adventurer, it's designed to carve up the African trail, aided by its long-travel suspension and minimal weight. The fairing is very protective, and the saddle good company, with the added bonus of a pleasant standing position. The engine may seem a little small for a machine of this size, but the Austrian mono is full of pep, and this has resulted in a featherweight machine. A pair of panniers and the machine is ready to take on the Sahara. But this KTM can also be used casually on the road, with the added bonus of those who will see in it a machine escaped from the Dakar. The bill may be a bit steep, but it's reasonable given the quality of the equipment and the capabilities of this "indiana jones".
