if you mix KTM with Dakar, what do you get? The sheer domination of one over the other. And when it comes to rutting, river-crossing trail bikes, Katoche is one of the best in the segment (if not the best). So, mix it all up, dip it in Gauloises blue (the manufacturer's former rally sponsor) like the 2005 950 S, sneeze on some orange and you've got yourself a presence of a special 30th DAKAR edition of the 990 Adventure (uh, yeah... But the Dakar started in 1979...). Based on the R model, this 30th edition features ABS, tubular side guards painted the same color as the frame, and 115 horsepower. The seat height is lower: at 860 mm, its highest point is the same as that of the standard Adventure; logical, since the suspension travel is also identical. Rally-raid spirit remains omnipresent at KTM, and in this color, it's a hell of a lot of fun to look at.
