anyone who's had a taste of KTM's first sportbike stage, via the RC 125, will naturally be leaning towards the desire for "a little more". Not necessarily a 400, even if the RC 390 is there to fill that niche. Just the little extra zest to please yourself. Someone to satisfy that craving? The RC 200 answers the call. No problem for Katoche, whose Duke family spirit(125, 200 and 390) makes it possible to multiply RCs in the same way.

with its sharp fairing, bright orange frame and sporty spirit, with the shadow of the RC8-R in the rearview mirror, the RC 200 has the feel of the track. And yet, the base is a 200 Duke reworked to blend in with the outfit of a female tracker. The steel trellis frame is retained, but the steering column is reworked. The rake is increased to 66.5° and the wheelbase to 1,340 mm. The front axle reflects its leitmotiv: the fork is the same diameter as on the RC8, i.e. 43 mm, and the brakes are developed by Brembo. Suspension is, as usual, handled by WP.
The engine comes from the Duke 200, itself derived from the 125's block. Stroke and bore have been increased from 124.7 to 199.5 cm3. The majority of internal moving parts are revised accordingly: camshafts, connecting rod, piston, valve; and let's not forget the essential modifications to the cylinder, airbox, injection and exhaust.

the look is strange, and it's not the only thing that will stand out. Take a look at the passenger seat, fully integrated into the rear section, or the turn signals built into the ends of the mirrors, or the bubble that spills over the fork head. The RC 200 is equipped with ABS, which can be disconnected if necessary. Its career in France promises to be low-key, due to a displacement that's not very fashionable. In emerging markets, however, the RC8 mini should be a hit.
