from 2006 to 2025Gentle sport from the ER-6f to the 650 Ninja.
streamlined roadster or small sport-GT? Quite simply, both. When Kawasaki brought out the ER-6n, it not only conquered a prime position in the entry-level roadster segment, but also raised the bar. From the gentle 500 ER-5, we moved on to a more playful, much more powerful machine with a much more assertive design. In the same vein, the manufacturer produced a "road" version, with a gentle fairing and a desire for a change of scenery.
the second version changes little technically, but the design is thoroughly revised, with a pronounced, sharpened sporty air. Much more pleasant, the bike now looks like a little Ninja.
in 2012, the ER-6f benefits from a new chassis, a reworked engine and a little more riding comfort. The silhouette is even more stylish.
a new name in 2017, when the Kawa adopts the Ninja 650 moniker. However, this doesn't mean it really joins the family, as its niche remains entry-level mid-displacement sport-GT bikes. The engine is a little fuller and more pleasant at low and mid-range revs, while the frame has been completely redesigned and lightened. The Ninja 1000 / Z 1000 SX styling is very successful.
this time, the Ninja 650 looks the part. 2020 gives it a fairing worthy of a ZX-6R. It's just a pretense, as the underside doesn't change much. Electronics will gradually invade the Ninja 650, which will gain a color TFT screen and traction control over the years.
