Sport touring

We suspected that theER-6 n would soon introduce us to a sibling. A roadster like that, with such a cool mill, was bound to bring in a little family. And the new arrival is called the ER-6 F. With this single letter, the little Kawasaki dons a most elegant dress, transforming it into a veritable little tourer. Its soft lines are reminiscent of the latest ZX-636R, its optics of the Z 1000 and its rear end of the Z 750 S; it has also stolen its dashboard. There's no doubt about it: it's part of the Kawa family.
With its enthusiastic engine, its natural playfulness, its excellent balance and now this fairing, a protection system that seems to be just right, as well as the ABS option, the ER-6 is ready to push all its rivals to the limit. Its arrival will take place in the faded zone: the N version will already have prepared the ground.

what ground? Oh, just the bikers who want a bike that's playful but not vicious, cheap without being a riff-raff, easy without being boring, charming and a little bit naughty; in short, a whole lot of interested parties. Some might think that with this new look, the ER-6 has changed in other ways too. They're not entirely wrong. The little Kawa's wheelbase, spine angle and ride attitude have all changed significantly, thanks to the slightly shortened rear shock absorber. What's the impact, you might ask? Not much, except even more moderate forearm pressure and greater rider comfort. just the thing for a bike that's dressed like a tourer. The bike's slimmer silhouette is more aesthetic than protective. Don't expect the fairing sides to be much help in the fight against the cold that mercilessly settles on your legs and chest. You'll get more support on the bubble side, which is effective enough as long as your height conforms to the national average.

KAWASAKI 650 ER-6 F a slightly firmer fork, a shorter rear shock absorber. These are just a few adjustments, but they don't change the very pleasant handling of the young, bold ER-6. It twirls with the flick of a wrist, reassures and enthralls young riders, happily surprises them with its spontaneity and efficiency, and wins them over with its excellent little twin, both supple and full of spirit.
Given its more than fair price, it would be a shame not to consider the ABS option, which can be had for €500. A little braking help that can often save the day on greasy, wet or playful terrain. The ER-6's ABS doesn't prevent you from playing with the brakes, only activating when the going gets really tough.
It's a shame Kawa didn't make its rear damping a little smoother. You could already feel it on the N, and it's more annoying on this more road-oriented machine. And if you're tall, you're likely to be annoyed by the limited space on board. Yes, the ER-6 F does have its shortcomings, since it offers so much for such a bargain price.

French rekson Model 2006
its twin-cylinder engine is pleasant, with power, torque and low fuel consumption. For enthusiasts of this cilyndrée, it's a very good choice Rating : 4/5
French keliodor Model 2006
42000km. Soon to be 10 years old. Unstoppable in small curves. Unstoppable if maintained. Exhaust showing signs of fatigue. Apart from that, nothing to report on the breakdown front. Very economical, versatile and playful. I agree about the mirrors and vibrations. I'd give it up for just one bike: the 1000... If kawa decides. V Rating : 5/5
Hello,

I'm about to get my A2 license, as I have a 2006 motorcycle, the clamping is done by a mechanical stop on the throttle cable. I would like to know approximately the maximum speed of the bike following the clamping (34hp)?

Thank you for your reply,
Yours faithfully

Very low fuel consumption whatever the pace, nice bike, light and easy to handle, stable on the billiard table, nice sound (yes) and nice pot (yes) under the bike, comfort a little limited in road use and handlebars too curved. Powerful engine, roaring up the revs. Rating : 4/5
French wifax Model 2008
i have the 2009 model, already 27000 km on the odometer, small imprecisions to the gearbox! no space under the seat; I think the opposite!
even at 60km/h you can easily stay in 6th gear!
fuel consumption = 4.5 to 5 liters per 100 for a slightly sporty pace! nice finish, uncomfortable seat!

French diabolo Model 2006
a month, a few days and already 1600 kilometers
the kawette in skirt (er6 F) has everything to please: slender, sober, smooth or furious as you like, cat-like as you like ... it's a good first springboard! with the abs, it's totally safe, even if the front discs don't have the symmetrical bite of the throttle. 20 liters would have been preferable ... but it's mainly the "rear-retro" that forces you to waddle it to keep an eye on the rear

French kawette 72 Model 2006
Rating : 5/5
French Benylerikiki
1 year on the ER6-F and I still love it just as much, it's so forgiving and easy to get around (even if the mirrors are at car mirror height... crap).

For vibrations, my technique is to dismantle the bubble, remove the insulators and put l'armaflex all along and ciao vibrations :) on the other hand, ironing the screws is a pain but you get there :D

For me too, this is the bike I've been waiting for! A remarkably efficient, versatile bike that doesn't overdo it. A pretty dress to boot, for a very playful twin. On a trip to Pau, I had the opportunity to ride it, and I really hope to be able to acquire the little beast as soon as I get back to the run! Bonne route à tous! Rating : 5/5
French vipi Model 2006
a beautiful bike at an attractive price....but there's just enough room for the anti-theft device, the Kawa is a must and, above all, the mirrors are too short to let you see your elbows. thanks to kawa for fixing that...it's SUPERB nonetheless! Rating : 5/5
French Black Jack Model 2006
I like it a lot, but I would have preferred the bronze/black color combination... like the N. Rating : 5/5
French torque Model 2006
A very nice little tourer, it's a shame the fuel tank is so small, because even if its appetite is measured, you don't get very far with 15.5 liters. BAD!!! Rating : 5/5

i don't really like design. it's a bit like stealing ideas that work from others and making a bike out of them. but then, I'm totally happy with my 650 SVS, so maybe I'm lacking objectivity. let's see what it looks like in real life. Rating : 5/5
French ji 'aim Model 2006
Out of curiosity, I tried out the ER-6 N in La Réunion on a very tough, winding mountain road, which demands torque from an engine, and well, I can assure you that I was stunned and utterly blown away by its lightness, maneuverability and efficiency, as well as by its impressive engine torque for a 650! As a result, I couldn't resist the charm of the "F", which I'm expecting in January to exchange for the 2004 1200 BANDIT S I currently own. Bonne route to all bikers on the old continent. this is exactly the bike i've been waiting for!

i don't know when it's coming out, but I'd piss off my concess to get it before anyone else, I can't live without this beak, it traumatizes me so much I find it sublime...

it's true that I didn't like its optics in photos either, but since I've seen it in real life once, I think it's not bad at all, and in F it looks even better Rating : 5/5
French tarmontpel Model 2006
At last, we'll be able to take off with panniers without burning them up! Nice all-round machine. An extra liter or two in the tank wouldn't have gone amiss Rating : 5/5
French TomDom Model 2006
In any case, I'm going to wait until December to buy my bike, I want to see it in real life, in any case what a looker it is in F, whereas the N repulsed me with its headlight optics...I'll order it in grey if I like it...SV S or ER6 F, that's the question??? I'm not a twin-cylinder but I really like its mother lol Rating : 5/5
