presentation of the 125 Café Racer Black Edition 2016
Mash's 125 range is extensive, but all are based on a single model: the Seventy. Each bike of this displacement is therefore a variation on the original, and this makes it possible to satisfy a wide range of tastes. For the Sino-French manufacturer, vintage is at the forefront, as is accessibility, both in terms of pricing and riding. The Café Racer offers a touch of "racing spirit" with a few stylish attributes. In a nutshell: a pair of half handlebars, a megapohone-type pot, recessed controls and a seat backrest. It sets the mood.
And to get back in the black jacket spirit of the time, the Black Edition plays the rebel card. Darkness sweeps away the romanticism of pastel hues, to flatten a corn-smoking pride. The fuel tank is adorned with a decor that smacks of suburban racing, while the "Matt Black" grabs the strategic elements: fork, tees, frame, mudguards, seat backrest, airbox covers, rear shell, hand and foot controls - only the blinkers and engine get away with it.
With 11.6 horsepower, the little mono won't be able to atomize anyone, thwarting the adrenaline appetites that the bike's name might whet. But what we're really looking for is an everyday stroller with a look that's very much in vogue at the moment. Black always makes an impression, taking with it a part of the night.
