presentation of the Kanguro 300 2026
Morini is reviving the Kanguro name with this new trail bike to complete its range, which is undergoing a renaissance (if it ever becomes a reality...). A nimble machine, barely heavier than a 125cc and with modest aspirations to offer simple off-road riding.
Its ancestor, the 350 Kanguro, had its moment of glory in the 1980s, when it was one of the best-selling models of the brand (then Italian). It was in the catalog for about ten years, then fell into a very long slumber until this new interpretation. It's rather attractive, with harmonious lines, a nice design for the front and rear lights, a slim frame for twirling around on trails, and a reasonable engine.
That's the word. Because while Morini managed to develop an image of a hot engine at the beginning of the century, today it's a completely different story. The Kanguro doesn't seek to tear up the trails, but rather to dawdle along them. To do so, it is powered by a 34-horsepower single-cylinder engine with some 2.9 mkg of torque. Modest power, but the bike weighs only 145 kilos. Lighter than a KTM 125 Enduro R and twice as powerful.
Big legs
It's a true trail bike: studded tires, 21- and 18-inch spoked wheels, 250 mm of suspension travel, and a generous 280 mm of ground clearance. And of course, it's tall. The seat is 880 mm high. Its frame follows the classic design for this category, with a tubular steel structure and an aluminum swingarm. Notably, the fuel tank is located under the seat to lower the center of gravity.
In terms of equipment, Morini has kept it simple with ABS that can be deactivated, a small (but comprehensive) digital speedometer, and thoughtful touches such as engine protection and hand guards.

With this engine and size, the Kanguro is not going to appeal to fans of the KLE, 450 MT or F 450 GS— that's what the 450 Alltrhike is for —but rather to those who like the CRF 300 L. It's a simple, lightweight, fun trail bike, not very powerful and more playful than intrepid.
It will also be available in a Rally version, more adventure-oriented than enduro.
