derived from the V7 Café and Classic, this new V7 Racer emphasizes customization and a certain exuberance. And the least we can say is that this café racer exercise stands out, from near and far. It had already done so when it was only a concept bike presented at EICMA 2009. So enticing, so dapper, that Guzzi barely touched it up before bringing it to series production, much to the delight of lovers of beautiful machines. Because, let's face it, this machine looks good. A very nice customization job, halfway between café-racer and tuning. The line is never crossed, and remains in the taste of an Italian creation.

with its red frame and chrome tank, the V7 Racer immediately arouses curiosity and catches the eye of passers-by. The manufacturer has put a great deal of effort into making this bike almost delicate to detail, as much as shimmering in its rendering. For those who set eyes on this machine, there are winks everywhere: spoked rims, red-painted hubs and swingarm, leather belts on the fuel tank, aluminum racing covers around the airbox, number plates on the mini windscreen, etc.ros plates on the mini windscreen and on the sides of the rear saddle, solid aluminum pedal controls, half-guidelines around an enriched upper tee and fork gussets... Clearly, it's a real eye-catcher! Having served this appetizing appetizer, does the V7 Racer outdo itself with the main course and the motorization? Not really, and we'd be almost disappointed to have only the 750 to sink our teeth into. The Guzzi character will be there, but the twin's 48 hp will bring only moderate flavor to this vintage roadster. Frankly, it deserves a bigger block, like the 940 installed on the Bellagio. Granted, the V7 racer is intended more for parading than for cruising. But with a name like that and bracelets in your paws, you'll want to step on the gas as soon as things start turning.

I wanted to try out this motorcycle, which I did around St Emilion in magnificent weather, an ideal setting for this vintage bike. It was the normal white racer, with a beautifully crafted curved seat that offers good comfort, aided by straps that are a little "tomboyish" at first glance, but which you forget once you're underway. Position and comfort are therefore satisfactory. You'd think you could knock down a few bollards, and that's a 1st positive point. Apart from that, it's still a bit of an old-fashioned motorcycle, with an engine that still has an operating manual (warm-up time) and a minimum of necessary delicacy (also because of the small cardan shaft), as well as a personality all its own with its reversing torque at standstill and its cardan shaft that pulls to the right when accelerating at low speed. All in all, it's a pleasure to ride, even if stability isn't total and the front end is a little fuzzy (I had a bad front metzeler). The power is in keeping with the chassis, and... with the legislation it's perfect. At 100km/h, you already have a feeling of speed. The engine is fairly easy and smooth, which is a pleasant surprise, and acceleration and torque are also good at legal speeds.
