presentation of the 1400 Eldorado 2015
with the 1400 Eldorado, would Moto-Guzzi like to rekindle the thirst for gold and glory that led so many men to hope and conquer unknown lands? Not exactly. Rather, the Mandello-based brand is offering a deliciously vintage, stripped-down version of the California, and in the process paying homage to the 850 Eldorado of the 70s.
just like the luscious American cars of the time, or the creamy Italian ice-creams, this imposing custom plays on certain effects that are immediately charming. Like its predecessor, the Eldorado is mounted on spoked wheels, with a delicate twist: whitewall tires. Classic and seductive every time. Note that the front wheel is reduced from 18 to 16 inches, and the boot dimensions are revised. The front 130/70 becomes a 130/90, while the rear clog is reduced to 180/65 (200/60 on the Calif).
Let's return to the inspiration of the past and those elements that have travelled in the DeLorean. Thus, the rear of the fuel tank is covered with chrome surfaces, the rear mudguard is totally modified, losing its LED rivulets for a round, full-retro headlamp, a new bar goes around the passenger seat and the side shocks are covered with covers.
On the Eldorado, the "cow's horn" handlebars take on maximum ease. You'll feel like you've got a grip on the whole road. The new hollowed-out saddle brings you closer to this, with the seat lowered to 724 mm, 16 mm less than the California.
a chic lady scented with nostalgia, the Guzzi 1400 Eldorado evokes the past but lives in the present and technology. The big 1380 cm3 twin knows how to express its character, and modulate it with its three injection mappings (Veloce, Turismo and Pioggia - Sport, Road and Rain). If you took one look at this "authentic" machine, you'd think you'd find carburetors, a belt and the composure to handle rear-end shifts! You'd be forgetting that the house of Mandello is in bed with the house of Noale. Under the Eldorado, you'll find Ride-by-wire fuel injection, an almost transparent cardan shaft transmission and 3-stage traction control. The torque is sure to satisfy, with over 12 mkg reached at just 2750 rpm. The Calif's big, technical, multifocal headlight, Brembo radial brakes, high-calibre, digitally-influenced instrumentation and overall majesty are all retained. A little sponge cake on top, a zest of caramel and you can enjoy it between the Como, Garda and Maggiore (famous Italian lakes).

At punta bagna, at the summit of galibier, the crowd was ... my bike :) Rating : 5/5 Respond to Bruno D
i've already had the 1400 california and it was a very good machine, so to change things up a bit I'm going for the 1400 eldorado which I find even more retro than the 1400 california and which I'm going to equip like the california ...
really, moto guzzi have done a great job, keep making bikes like these, what a pleasure: roadholding, comfort, handling, etc. ...

Adeline, that's not a far, it's a headlight!
And it's a rear light, since headlights are usually on the front!
