Harley-Davidson now offers a new Custom paint: APEX.

harley-Davidson and customization are no laughing matter! Milwaukee motorcycles are distinguished not only by their philosophy, engines and accessories, but also by their paintwork; especially that of CVOs and special anniversary series - and now the new Apex custom, offered on a series of Grand American Touring models.

the new paint will be unveiled at the 2022 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Apex custom paint draws its inspiration from Harley-Davidson's racing history. This 'racing heritage', which dates back over a century to the first Hill Climb, Enduro and Flat Track victories, continues on the MotoAmerica King of the Baggers championship.

apex paint incorporates a graphic pattern on the tank that recalls the style of the tank on the Harley-Davidson® XR750, their Flat Track machine. On fairing-equipped models, the pattern extends rearward to align with the tank decoration, drawing a line that suggests speed. The stripes applied to the front mudguard connect visually with those on the side covers and panniers, creating a flowing effect.

the paint is based on a Vivid Black base, combined with a Gauntlet Gray hue surrounded by a Jet Fire Orange stripe, the original color of the XR750 racing models. Shadows and a subtle Bar & Shield pattern are revealed as you explore the bike. This shading effect is inspired by the checkerboard pattern found on Harley-Davidson factory racing machines, and a clear coat is applied for the finishing touch.Apex custom paint is produced in-house at Harley-Davidson York Vehicle Assembly and Harley-Davidson Tomahawk Operations.

apex custom paint will be offered worldwide during the 2022 model order period as a factory option on nine Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring models, at an additional cost of €2,100 to €3,500:

- Street Glide Special + Chrome and Black versions
- Ultra Limited + Chrome and Black engine version
- Road Glide Limited + Chrome and Black engine version
- Road Glide Special + Chrome and Black engine version

h-D' s Genuine Parts & Accessories catalog will offer Tour-Pak luggage racks and custom front mudguards painted to match Apex models. This will enable bikers to further customize a bike ordered with Apex factory custom paint.
