On Tuesday September 10, Bosch and Pirelli formalized a strategic partnership aimed at developing innovative driving solutions through the integration of sensors in tires.
Pirelli CYBER, the world's first intelligent tire
Bosch's expertise in MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) hardware and sensors, combined with Pirelli's cutting-edge Cyber Tyre technology, has given rise to an innovative project: the Pirelli CYBER tire. This is the world's first system based on tires equipped with integrated sensors, capable of collecting, processing and transmitting data to the vehicle in real time.
These sensors, placed inside the tires, capture critical information such as tire pressure, temperature and wear. This data is then analyzed and used to adjust the vehicle's electronic systems, such as stability control (ESP) and braking systems. The recipe has been tested for the first time on top-of-the-range cars such as the Pagani Utopia Roadster:
Technology for safety and durability
Pirelli Cyber Tyre technology, with the integration of intelligent sensors, enhances the driving experience in real time. Bosch, thanks to its expertise in data management via MEMS sensors and its advanced software solutions, optimizes the processing of information gathered by the tires for even more precise control of vehicle dynamics.
Bosch's Bluetooth low-energy technology facilitates the efficient transmission of tire data to the vehicle's electronic systems, ensuring smooth communication. All this, while contributing to greater energy efficiency.
A partnership focused on the future of the automobile
Founded in Milan in 1872, Pirelli is recognized as one of the world's leading players in the tire industry. Bosch, a leader in sensor technology, continues to demonstrate its ability to innovate and offer sustainable technological solutions for the automotive industry. The collaboration of these two well-established companies marks a new era in connected mobility.
By developing the world's first tires with integrated sensors capable of communicating in real time with the vehicle, Bosch and Pirelli are pushing back the boundaries of car-bike innovation.
