Royal Enfield is about to take the next step in the adventure bike segment. A prototype, presumably of the long-awaited Himalayan 750, was recently spotted testing in southern Europe. Caution is advised.
Royal Enfield: a controlled revelation to generate excitement
There's little doubt that this controlled appearance is designed to gauge the reactions of enthusiasts while fine-tuning the final touches. It's a way of unveiling new models that prolongs the magic of Christmas and keeps up the anticipation.
New twin-cylinder engine
At the heart of this new model, captured by the lens of a few paparazzi in the right place at the right time, we'd say (we're deliberately using the conditional throughout this brief) is a 750 cm³ parallel twin-cylinder engine, a significant advance on existing 650 cm³ models such as the Interceptor and Royal Enfield's Super Meteor.
This engine, supposedly combined with a two-in-one exhaust system, would offer the perfect balance of power, generous torque and versatility for both long-distance highway riding and off-road escapades.
Robust chassis and design
Royal Enfield is working on an entirely new platform for this model. The frame would feature an adjustable inverted front fork and monoshock rear suspension, a configuration that would guarantee comfort and solidity even on demanding terrain. Wire-spoke rims, in 19-inch front and 17-inch rear sizes, would enhance its off-road capabilities, while tubeless tires would enrich the final version.
It's still a little vague, but we'll settle for that for now...
A resolutely modern design
Visually, the Himalayan 750, as presented to us, tends to stand out for its assertive semi-carenoid styling, round LED headlight and completely redesigned rectangular TFT instrument panel. Front and rear LED lights accentuate its contemporary look.
Launch imminent?
This promising model should embody the evolution of the Indian brand, combining modern technologies with an adventurous spirit, ideal for racking up the miles with ease. Although the Himalayan 750 is still in the development phase, it is already shaping up to be a reliable and versatile companion, ready to take on any challenge. With an official launch scheduled for late 2025 - early 2026, it joins the ambitions of Royal Enfield, already at work on its first electric motorcycle, the recently unveiled Flying Flea.
