There’s no need to go into detail about the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE’s merits. With its responsive engine, ample and readily available power, highly versatile chassis, and off-road capability, this adventure bike has a lot to offer. Only its design takes some getting used to.
Top Block has those riders in mind who want to take it off the beaten path and is working on protective gear that matches its ambitions. Out go the standard skid plates; in come reinforced tubular steel full-coverage guards. To design them, the Franche-Comté-based company drew on its 25 years of experience studying impact forces during crashes to develop these new protection and luggage products under the Top Block Trail brand.
A reinforced front protection kit.
The set consists of tubular guards with a 25-millimeter diameter to protect the front of the V-Strom 800DE in the event of a side-impact fall. The steel tubes are bent using a CNC machine and welded before receiving a black epoxy paint finish. Each component is then mounted at two points on the frame and engine on each side of the motorcycle. A tubular section connects the two parts and ensures the rigidity of the assembly.
The rear kit for carrying soft or hard luggage.
For the rear section of the Suz' trail bike, Top Block has designed a mounting kit for a top case and side cases. This assembly is made from 25 mm diameter tubular sections. The top case mounting plate is made from a 4 mm thick aluminum sheet. It is laser-cut and allows for the attachment of either soft luggage, rigid plastic luggage, or aluminum luggage. On the sides, mounting studs allow for the attachment of side luggage.
No modifications are required for the installation of this kit. Please note that the top case mount can be sold separately without the side case kit.
