News Bose audio in Sena intercoms.

A Sena 60X intercom

Sena, a leading player in motorcycle communication, is taking a significant step forward in on-board audio experience. By integrating Sound by Bose technology starting this year, the manufacturer aims to redefine audio clarity standards for motorcyclists, beginning with the launch of the new 60S EVO and 60X models.

A premium partnership

This partnership combines Bose’s long-standing expertise in acoustic engineering with the Mesh and Bluetooth communication platforms that have made Sena famous.

For Tae Kim, CEO of Sena, this collaboration is the culmination of a clear ambition: At Sena, our mission has always been to deliver a premium connected riding experience. The integration of Sound by Bose technology aims to enhance the way riders interact with their music, navigation, and each other.

Taming the Elements: The Challenge of Sound in Motion

The motorcycle environment is one of the most hostile for audio: aerodynamic noise, engine roar, and road resonance all pose obstacles to clarity. To counter these challenges, the developed solution combines Sena’s compact speakers with the Bose WaveForm audio engine and Bose Sound Design tuning.

This architecture has been specifically calibrated to ensure that GPS navigation and intercom conversations remain intelligible, regardless of speed variations or the intensity of surrounding noise.

The core of this innovation rests on three technical pillars designed to deliver stable and consistent performance:

  • Rich sound at low volume: Thanks to dynamic equalization, the system preserves sound depth at low volumes, preventing the rider from having to constantly turn up the volume to hear nuances.
  • Tonal balance at high volume: When the sound level increases to compensate for wind noise, the system maintains a stable tonal balance, preserving the clarity of voices and the precision of navigation instructions.
  • Output stability and "pumping" control: An intelligent algorithm limits sudden volume fluctuations. It thus eliminates the audio pumping effect (perceptible level fluctuations), providing a consistent and smooth listening experience, even at high speeds.

Rollout: The 60 Series Takes the Lead

The new flagship models of the range, the Sena 60S EVO and Sena 60X, will be the first to benefit from this premium treatment. These models usher in a new era for the manufacturer, confirming its positioning in the high-end segment.

While the 60 Series leads the way, Sena doesn’t plan to stop there: the brand has already indicated that Sound by Bose technology will be gradually extended to other products in its catalog, promising to make high-fidelity sound accessible to more riders.
