presentation of the Xplora 707 2026

After the Aventura, Rieju is launching a family of more GT-oriented adventurers. The 557 Xplora came along to light the way; now it's the 707's turn to show off its wheels, its desires and its twin. A great addition to the segment, but what does it offer to counter the 650 V-Strom, Tracer 7 and others?

A well-positioned look

The Xplora family spirit is clearly evident. From the 557 to the 707, the broad lines are preserved, with a serious (almost massive) appearance, a powerful chest and an adventurous look reminiscent of theAfrica Twin. The machine is far from unpleasant, making you think it's come out of the sticks.

And yet, while the bodywork is similar to that of the 557, the frame and engine are of a scale more suited to the heart of the market. The Rieju Xplora 707 is in fact a reworked Benelli TRK 702.

The CP2 in your sights?

With its 694 cm3 twin-cylinder engine, this Iberian-Chinese model is a direct competitor to the mid-size trail bikes that abound in the urban and suburban landscape, providing a host of everyday services. Like the vast majority of twins of this calibre, it adopts an in-line architecture, with double ACT, 8 valves, fuel injection, liquid cooling and 6-speed gearbox.
This block, from
QianJiang Motor, promises class-leading performance, with 7.1 mkg of torque and 70 horsepower. Enough to keep it on the road without tiring, unless you load it up like a mule. It will follow in the footsteps of the Tracer, Versys, V-Strom, 700 MT, X-Cape and other attractive trail bikes. And to make sure you don't miss the boat on this market, it can be A2 bridled.

Rieju Xplora 707

A double face

But the Xplora 707 doesn't want to confine itself to asphalt. It'll be sniffing around V-Strom XTs, a little Ténéré 7 and scruffy excursions with a few trump cards up its sleeve. Spoke rims, mixed tires, tubular guards, radiator grille and hand guards are all on offer. Without being a missionary, the Rieju aims to please shoes and boots alike.

Nor are its shoes enduro in the true sense of the word, but rather a compromise. Wheels come in 19" and 17" sizes, with 110/80 and 150/70 casings - just what you need for wandering around a trail.
Still on the subject of the chassis, the feeling of confidence settles in with Brembo 4-piston radial brake calipers, a beautiful Kayaba inverted fork adjustable in compression and rebound, and a shock absorber also Kayaba but adjustable only in preload - all held together by a tubular steel frame with a different design but similar in concept to that of the 557 . The swingarm is made of aluminum. As for braking, it's a serious affair, with a 320 mm double disc at the front and a 260 mm track at the rear. Brembo brakes too.

As with all machines made in the Middle Kingdom, the Xplora 707 is also well-equipped. We've already seen some of it in previous lines; let's complete the picture with a large 7-inch color TFT screen with MirrorLink function, deactivatable ABS, anti-dribble clutch, package holder, adjustable handlebars, center stand, backlit instrument cluster and two USB sockets (standard and C).

Rieju Xplora 707 - tableau de bord

Where the Rieju loses ground is in its dry weight of 221 kilos. Quite overweight for a crossover of its size. Add to this the 15 kg or so required for the 19.5 liters of benzine once the tank is full, a little oil and a GPS support, and the bike weighs in at 240 kg. A diet of around twenty kilos would be welcome.
The Xplora also lacks riding modes - not really essential on this type of bike, but customers are sensitive to this type of argument.
The Xplora will be able to sweep all this under the carpet with a strategically well-placed price.

One more challenger...

Its 835 mm seat height is also within the norm for the category. The Rieju Xplora 707 thus reinforces the herd in the exponential world of trail bikes. This is uncharted territory for the Rieju Xplora, which it tackles with an interesting silhouette, convincing solutions and a thought-provoking price tag.
