presentation of the 650 Classic 125 Year Special Edition 2026
With this Classic 650 Special Edition 125 years old, Royal-Enfield celebrates its great age with chic, baroque and color. The manufacturer can afford to indulge in a good dose of frasque: there aren't many brands in business with so much time on the clock. Indian since 1901, Triumph in 1902, Harley-Davidson was born in 1903, Peugeot in 1898(whose activity was revived with the XP6, a rebadged Sherco).
Two years earlier, Royal-Enfield was founded near Redditch (15 km from Birmingham), in Worcestershire. The first motorized two-wheeler was introduced in 1901.
By 1903, the range comprised three models. By 2026, there were some fifteen in the catalog. A golden age? You'd think so, with the shimmering hue of this very special 650 Classic.
It shines, it parades, it adores itself and seems to come out of gold. The entire body of this machine is covered in a "Hypershift" paint with a particular iridescence: depending on the angle of view, the play of colors shifts between red and gold, delivering acidulous or ochre nuances.
This is not the only graphic effect. A black band with piping runs down the middle of the bike. At the top of the tank, a gold badge underlines the special side, while 125th anniversary stickers on the side covers accentuate the anniversary tribute. The solo saddle is embellished with stitching and motifs to great effect. Finally, the engine, exhausts and all chrome parts are covered in black.
The ride in the weather
Flashy but not violent. Like all Classic 650s and other models of this displacement, the Special Edition is powered by an air-cooled parallel twin, not very powerful but ultra-classic in its styling. 47 horsepower drive it, 243 kg of nostalgia support it and 125 years look at it.
Royal-Enfield has not said whether this model will be imported into France, nor whether it will be a limited series.
