Motorcycle specifications SuzukiVS 1400 INTRUDER 1999 Old-fashioned custom

presentation of the VS 1400 INTRUDER 1999
with this big custom bike, it's hard to go unnoticed. The Intruder, with its shortened pot, cowhorn-style handlebars and large front wheel, is strongly inspired by choppers made in the USA. With its excellent finish and quality paintwork, Suzuki has put in a lot of effort to create a beautiful, well-finished machine. The machine's substantial weight is only felt in the steering when riding at low speeds. Otherwise, the 1400's low center of gravity makes it easy to handle. Quite supple, the twin also has a pleasant character in the low and mid-range ranges. Comfort is less convincing. It remains decent as long as the asphalt is of good quality; after that... Braking offers a good feel, but its power isn't enough; optimism should be tempered. Since 1990, the gearbox has been upgraded from 4 to 5 speeds. The Intruder 1400 is a fine example of a certain era in custom motorcycling.

i've just bought a 1991 model
Super bike, before I had a 1100 virago (broken cardan shaft)
The Mach pots make a lot of noise, I wonder if the gendarmerie will appreciate it and how much it might cost me?
I can't find any maintenance or technical documentation in French
Would you have any information, links or anything else?
Merci beaucoup Rating : 5/5 Respond to titi86

I'm new here and may have missed what interests me today...could someone tell me where to find a RTM for my intruder ( I'm starting to despair...) and in French. I have a big problem with my wiring harness and I can't get out of it!!!! Help !!! Rating : 3/5 Respond to rad16
i discovered the 1400 intruder 1 year ago it's a marvel i own a 1400 from 91 gearbox 5 with many modifications and a 1400 from 87 gearbox 4 equipped with a gsxr fork they are 2 bikes almost identical yet so different to ride
in short, all this to say that it's all good fun!
see you on the road Rating : 5/5 Respond to CHEYENNE 72
for intruder lovers and others, there is an IOCF club and a dedicated website WWW.INTRUDER.FR

super torque, beautiful engine hum (a beating heart, not a drill noise!)
A bike that's not a Harley look-alike and has its own style (unlike the Jap productions that followed...)
It's a dream come true.
Only complaints: the rear suspension and perhaps the range, but it's a custom. My previous bike, the Honda CX500c, was no better in terms of range

I've owned a 1400 since 1999, year 88, 4 speed gearbox. completely customized, it's true that I have a hard time parting with it and for only two things its impressive torque, at least for me since it's equipped with a dynojet kit, KN + stainless steel pots completely free. i won't let you imagine the decibels, and the 2nd thing for its look. let's not talk about road holding, nor braking it's a disaster compared to what's done today. in great condition (information by e-mail) Rating : 5/5 Respond to pif-rider'
i've been fitting one for three days, it's a terrible bike, it's a 1994 with 19000km on it,
but I don't have the technical document, could you please help me?
Otherwise, this bike has a lot of power to spare, it's perfect for a ride, for the moment, nothing but happiness..
Grand V to all! Rating : 5/5 Respond to goldfinger

only downside ... the poor-quality chromes. I bought it new and after five years the chromes were starting to prickle.... too bad! the sickness of this bike.... Rating : 5/5 Respond to vian's47
