presentation of the DL 650 V-STROM XT 2019

The Suzuki 650 V-Strom XT is certainly the one that best meets the public's expectations of a medium-displacement trail bike. You'll see, there are just a few extra features... but that's what changes everything and makes you say: "Oh yeah . That's what I'm into! ". So, what's so special about this XT?!

a more adventurous spirit. All it needs is a pair of spoked rims and an engine mount, and it's ready to take on the world. While the wheels are better able to handle the hazards of a trail, the hoof is more artificial. Sure, it enhances the V-Strom's belly, but its plastic design will hold up far less well than an aluminum component.
A pair of handguards, a must-have on a mountain and valley trail, round out the XT's equipment. This costs an extra 3 kilos.

Suzuki DL 650 V-STROM XT 2019evolving in tandem with the standard V-Strom 650, the XT benefits from the same evolutions. Its lines are entirely based on those of the 1000, giving it a punchy silhouette that's well worth appreciating. The 645 cm3 twin produces 71 hp, two more than before, after a significant update to comply with Euro4. For the road, 20-liter fuel tank, aluminum perimeter frame, 12V socket, 2-stage traction control + off, 43 mm fork, 2 310 mm brake discs with2-piston triers at the front + 1 x 260 mm disc with single-piston caliper at the rear, ABS and adjustable bubble. The V-Strom is easy to use, with Easy Start and Low RPM Assist.
Delivered as is, the 650 V-Strom XT still leaves something to be desired. The center stand, even more so than on the standard version, should come as standard.
Once underway, the machine is ready to take on roads of all kinds, with an aplomb that makes it hard to go unnoticed.

V-Strom 650
French Adam Model 2025
Hello... The V-Strom 650 having been around for 20 years, I don't think that all the owners of this bike have been wrong for so long, even though it has a more than favourable reputation, the "critics" are often sterile, for the negative aesthetics, how can anyone believe that it is "ugly", do you think that you are applauded on roadtrips with another machine or pilloried by other bikers with a V-Strom....!do you believe so strongly that a personal "taste" can enhance your riding, your ride, your person...??? Frankly, there are often too many "Values" that have no basis in fact... Rating : 5/5

I was the proud owner of a 650 XT Vstrom. If I had to sum it up: good everywhere, excellent nowhere, but also no real faults. Now, aesthetics is a subjective judgement, and this bike wasn't unanimous on this criterion, but its qualities made you forget about it. Rating : 4/5
The Swiss Army Knife
French Model 2019
Its main flaw is its haphazard design.
Because of this, I didn't even want to try it out once I had the A2 in my pocket... But after a lot of insistence, I was finally convinced, so I went for it.
Big mistake: in less than half an hour, this bike made me forget all the others I'd tried. Suspension or seat, the comfort is royal, and the engine is just excellent, with torque present very early on and allowing efficient riding without having to rev it up. On the A2, only motorway journeys will make you regret a slight lack of power. As soon as you get back on the secondary network, you'll have no trouble keeping up with much more powerful bikes. The chassis is ultra-sound and considerate, and there are never any nasty surprises, even on rough roads. Speed bumps don't even make me slow down any more, it's almost become a game. The loaded duo rides well, with the passenger snugly tucked between the suitcases and against the backrest of the top case. Only the installation is sometimes tricky, but there's a trick: let the SDS go up first.
Now that I've got the bridge, I'm thinking of changing... But I know I'll miss it. Instead, I'm going to unbolt it and take advantage of those extra watts, which will give me more ease on my rare motorway passages. Really, try it: behind the handlebars, you can't tell it's ugly anymore.

I've been riding this bike for 6 years now, and I'm nearing the 70,000km mark.
This bike is pleasant to ride, easy to maintain, although the under-tank cylinder is a bit rough, the engine is solid I've ridden 26,000km with the same Oil on an experimental basis no major degradation the clutch is the original one the transmission original chain has been at 40,000km wheel bearings to be checked every 30-40,000 km the bulbs once burnt out the crossings the valve clearance is controlled by me-i'm within the manufacturer's valve clearances, except for the rear cylinder exhaust, which was 1/100 too much at the last check. No oil consumption, the piston rings are ok and no cooling water consumption, but beware of the clamp on the water hose, which is a little worn and creates a leak. Brake fluid changed after 4 years, no corrosion, no moisture. This bike is built to last: 90% on the road, 10% on the highway

Healthy motorcycle, never any worries, after many years and motorcycles I have some hindsight and the vstrom xt is sufficient both in power and enough torque, I have 22000 kms and I do not regret my choice, 64 year old biker Rating : 5/5
French M.Ban Model 2017
Good value for money, optional real protective shoe and much too low ???, an aberration!!! overall too low for me (1m85), does not pass trunks, protruding stones, sidewalks without tapping...good road...for the TT basic, to be avoided! Rating : 4/5
Bien en tout, excellente en rien
French Guillaume83 Model 2021
Hello, I bought a new V-strom 650 XT 2021 two years ago after a lot of thought, during these two years I covered 50000 km of road and highway. I think it's a very good bike to start with, especially if the need is to have a touring bike for less than 10 k€.
I've added the following accessories: - touring bubble with deflector - heated grips - 48l Shad top case The pros: - very smooth engine - very forgiving - comfort worthy of a 15 k€ bike - a bike from 10 km/h The cons: - very intrusive ABS - weight and center of gravity when maneuvering at a standstill - low beam bulb (2 bulbs per year) I think it's a very good bike for beginners, especially if the need is to ride on the road.

French Woody (Woodpecker) Model 2017
Version XT 2017
Immediate grip
It's a sharp Swiss Army knife
Very smooth, peachy engine
At ease on any rolling surface (it's not an off-roader). Very maneuverable, comfortable, good bubble protection, economical on torque (often less than 4 l/100) with very good range, well suspended, lighting appears
The only fault I can find with it is the ABS, which can give you a few scares under emergency braking, but it's a good reminder to be careful
For that, I'd take away 1 star.

French Michel Model 2018
An excellent motorcycle for all types of use. It's at home in town, easy to handle, easy to get used to, and can be lively above 8,000 rpm. A bit of a daredevil on its own, but very comfortable for two. A real armchair for the lady, better than the GS 1200 (according to her, even though it's very comfortable)
It weighs just under 220 kg fully equipped. You can go on vacation with two 46l GIVI suitcases and a 50l top case. Fuel consumption: 3.9 l/100 km with the lady, 4.5 on her own (I can't imagine why). The engine is smooth, picking up at 2000rpm and climbing nicely right up to the breaker
A model that costs very little in insurance and can't be stolen.

I've had two (a 2010 and a 2020). I still have the 2010, which doesn't have ABS, and I swapped the 2020 after a year, whose suspension is a bit soft but whose abs are borderline dangerous (it doesn't bite and is too long to stop) for a Vstrom 1050. Apart from the brakes, the 650 is almost better than the 1050 (20 kilos and 4500 euros difference). On the 650, everything else is top-notch (I'll let everyone decide on the look) Rating : 5/5
French Sergio Model 2018
A really stunning bike, to try it is to adopt it, it can do everything and it's just as at ease in town as on country roads, and I'd say it's a bike you'd want to take out every day. A lot of the media criticize its look, as they say, all tastes are different, I own the XT version in yellow with its gold rims, and I find it very pretty, bon entendeur salut! Rating : 5/5
Et les freins?
French Model 2019
I've owned a 2019 vstrom 650 xt for 1 year and 12,000 km. I use it every day: to go to work as well as for fun or weekend rides. This bike is perfect: it can do everything, and its fuel consumption is quite reasonable. The original tires are very light in terms of wet and dry grip. But they can be changed....But what really isn't up to scratch is the abs! Suzuki had to salvage an old stock of first-generation abs, the ones from the 80s that made square tires. As a result, you're sure to break out in a cold sweat at the slightest touch of the brakes: ca freine...ca freine plus...ca freine...ca freine plus.....etc. Apart from the fun factor of the rocking horse, you'll have to reckon with a braking distance many times longer than that of your friends equipped with a real abs. For example, those who own a vtrom 1000.... Rating : 2/5

i gave it a rating of 4 because, for my part, if it's new and comes with all the options, including luggage, it's much more affordable than the indestructible GS, which is good value for money and has a good mouth feel Rating : 4/5

After trying out several bikes, I fell in love with this v-strom, which didn't appeal to me at all at first. Once on board, I felt euphoric... perhaps because of my tall stature (1.90m). At last, a bike where I felt at ease! Smooth engine, torque from the twin-cylinder, complete and pleasant dashboard, comfortable, fun, impeccable roadholding (the footbraces rubbed!)... a taste of adventure immediately hit me with its 400km range... I took the adventure pack. I found no fault with it, and the price was affordable. I'd recommend it! Rating : 5/5

La bonne à tout faire
French Fred51 Model 2018
I'm 56 years old and have a long motorcycling career. I've owned, among others: 1200 GS, 1150 RT, 900 TDM, 1000 V-Strom, 4 Harley touring bikes, etc... In short, a complete range. I wanted a bike that was very light, comfortable, not greedy, capable of being at ease in town, on the road, even on the freeway, and reliable as a duo. I found it. Suzuki v-strom 650 xt. I added a 52L top case, center stand, heated grips and Givi double bubble. And now we're close to the ideal bike. It's easy to handle, lightweight and very comfortable. The only drawback is that the original bubble isn't wide enough to protect the upper part of the torso. Otherwise, the chassis is absolutely impeccable, and never traps when riding solo or in a duo. Good reach despite 71 hp, and surprising flexibility for a two-cylinder. And even though it doesn't have the power of a 1000, it picks up with ease. It has no major faults, and performs well on all registers, even if it's still a 650 cc, which is very usable, and except on freeways, it's easy to keep up with the bigger bikes. A bike for everyday riding and travel. Very appealing. Rating : 5/5
