presentation of the TF 450-RC 2025
Triumph launches its assault on MXGP with formidable conviction and a machine cut from the same cloth: the TF 450-RC. This direct competitor to the KTM SX-F, Honda CRF-R and GasGas MC-F (to name but a few) benefits directly from Ricky Carmichael's involvement in its development.
Hinckley began its cross-country foray with the TF 250-X. Developed by Triumph's top engineers and motocross champions, the TF 450-RC Edition boasts the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. The new 450 cm3 engine is compact, mass-optimized and designed for racing. Engineering, design and equipment work in harmony for first-rate power, control and flexibility.
The color design incorporates Triumph's Performance Yellow with black and white accents. It also includes RC's iconic number 4, the GOAT logo and major sponsor details, adding a personalized touch that reflects the spirit of this motocross legend. This design is repeated on the numbering panels, swingarm decals and other visual elements, reinforcing the bike's unique identity.
Power
The TF 450-RC's 450 cm3 SOHC single-cylinder engine is designed for competition, delivering high power while minimizing weight, giving it a class-leading power-to-weight ratio.
At the heart of this engine are first-rate components, including a Konig forged aluminum piston, which offers strength and durability at high speeds, and DelWest titanium valves, which improve airflow and accelerate actuation. The TF 450-RC's 5-speed gearbox, fitted as standard with a quickshifter for clutchless shifting from 2nd to 5th gear, ensures smooth power transmission for maximum concentration on the track.

The TF 450-RC's airbox and intake system provide the engine with a consistently high volume of air, essential for performance and efficiency. The intake system is combined with a TwinAir air filter, renowned for its longevity and filtration efficiency. Tool-free access to the filter facilitates maintenance of the motorcycle in difficult conditions, and guarantees optimum airflow at all times.
The TF 450-RC features a state-of-the-art engine management and intake/exhaust system, designed to deliver exceptional performance and control. The bike features a Dellorto throttle body integrated with an Athena engine management system, ensuring precise fuel delivery and throttle response. This system allows riders to fine-tune parameters such as traction control and launch control via the MX Tune Pro smartphone app, offering adaptable performance for different track conditions.
The TF 450-RC features selectable engine maps, including a unique map customized by Ricky Carmichael to deliver the power and control he demands.
Designed to win

Precision, control and strength are at the forefront of the TF 450-RC's design, especially with the ODI RC4 Signature handlebars. Made from triple-cut, tapered-wall tubing, these handlebars are designed to offer the perfect balance of strength and flexibility. Constructed from seamless 2014-T6 alloy and hard-anodized for durability, the handlebars feature oversized clamps and ODI lock-on grips, ensuring excellent rider comfort, vibration reduction and shock resistance.
The upper engine mounts on the TF 450-RC have been selected by Ricky to improve handling, particularly under heavy front loads. This configuration enables the bike to maintain optimum control and stability, even during the most demanding rides.
XTrig Holeshot gives the rider a perfect start by preloading the front suspension, lowering the center of gravity and reducing front-wheel lift for quicker acceleration. The bike also comes standard with a Triumph Racing Hinson clutch cover, a front disc guard to deflect debris and impacts, and a claw seat cover to reduce slippage and improve rider control. These top-of-the-range components enhance the TF 450-RC's overall performance and reliability.
Exhaust system
The TF 450-RC's exhaust system is designed to complement its high-performance engine. The standard model features a lightweight stainless steel exhaust with an integrated resonator to improve cylinder evacuation, and hydroformed components for optimized routing and high gas flow.
For riders seeking an even higher level of performance, an Akrapovic titanium exhaust is available as an accessory, with dedicated engine mapping to optimize engine efficiency. This system ensures that exhaust gases are expelled efficiently, minimizing back pressure and improving engine performance, particularly at high revs.
An aluminum chassis for competence
The TF 450-RC features a unique aluminum chassis, designed to offer a perfect balance of performance, mass and flexibility. The frame's spine and double cradle provide exceptional strength while minimizing weight, contributing to the bike's agility and handling on the track. Hand TIG welding guarantees durability and precision down to the smallest detail.

The TF 450-RC's lightweight, agile aluminum chassis plays a crucial role in achieving the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. By minimizing the bike's overall weight, the chassis enables the powerful 450 cm3 engine to deliver exceptional acceleration and performance. The combination of a powerful engine and a lightweight frame offers riders unrivalled agility, control and speed, making the TF 450-RC a leading contender in its age category.
Key design elements, including aluminum upper and lower fork crowns and dedicated top brackets, have been engineered to handle power and high loads. This optimized rigidity delivers exceptional stability and responsiveness, giving riders the confidence to push the bike to its limits.
The TF 450-RC's KYB AOS coilover suspension is designed for superior shock absorption and handling. Featuring an air-oil separation (AOS) system, this suspension provides smoother, more consistent damping by preventing oil aeration, which translates into more precise control and greater stability on different terrains. The three-way piggyback shock absorber is associated with this system, allowing precise adjustment of compression, rebound and preload. This means the suspension can be fully customized to suit rider preferences and track conditions, enhancing handling, traction and comfort, especially during demanding, high-speed motocross events.
Boosted confidence and control
The TF 450-RC is equipped with top-of-the-range braking components for maximum control. Brembo calipers and levers ensure precise, responsive braking, while Galfer discs offer high durability and excellent heat dissipation. This combination guarantees smooth, reliable braking performance, even under heavy use, giving the rider confidence and control in all racing conditions.

Additional equipment and accessories
The TF 450-RC is designed for rugged performance, keeping riders on the road with minimum downtime. With top-of-the-range components, Triumph's renowned quality and world-class support, the bike is designed to be reliable in the toughest conditions. A new network of specialist dealers and a 24/7 parts supply system provide rapid access to service and parts (from an Akrapovic titanium exhaust with dedicated engine card, to a WiFi module kit, and from air filter covers to a Gripper saddle), enabling riders to stay on track with minimum disruption.
Triumph goes full throttle in its off-road section. The TF 450-RC will hit dealerships in February 2025, priced at €11,795.
Steve Sargent, Triumph's Chief Product Officer, said:"At the end of 2023, Triumph unveiled the TF 250-X - the first of a whole new range of off-road motorcycles. Now we have an all-new 450cc model, which Ricky Carmichael, who is undoubtedly the best in the business, has worked with us to develop. The TF 450-RC Edition offers a balance of power, precision and ruggedness that sets a new standard in the 450cc motocross class. It's only fitting that the first edition bears Ricky's name".
