presentation of the 675 STREET TRIPLE R 2012
the big Speed is getting a facelift, and the little Street is following suit... So it's only logical that the Street Triple R should also get a facelift; or rather, adopt the new look of Hinckley's Street-fighters. It's a double optic with goofy eyes, more stylish, but confusing and hard to accept for purists.
a slight series of cosmetic changes does not upset the British bike's profile: graphite-colored footpegs, a satin finish on the mufflers and radiator covers, a revamped clutch housing and a new Triumph logo. It's as if the queen of the ball had taken a moment's absence from the party to change wolf and come back as sparkling as at the start of the evening.
for under its new eyes, the Street Triple 675 R remains the excellent little roadster we've come to know. For starters, there's its raucous, singing 3-cylinder engine, straight out of the Daytona. A mill that loves to rev and stir your guts as it goes. Certainly one of the most efficient and lively engines in its class today, and the one you'll have the most fun with. The chassis follows suit, a real pleasure to ride. When it comes to braking, the basic Street can already teach lessons to many. With its sporty front end, the R delivers road-crushing braking. And its more adjustable suspension makes it even more dynamic. Enough to fine-tune your riding.
Oh, of course, no bike is perfect. But in terms of fun, engine and handling, the 675 Street Triple R is a super model, albeit a little more demanding to ride than a Japanese bike.
