Fine-tuned riding modes, Euro5-compliant engine, weight reduction - the 1200 Bonneville has undergone a technical overhaul. One of the most famous British motorcycles lives on, but with a nostalgic look.

The engine delivers the same power and torque. The only sanction of its reconditioning is the increase in rpm, where the maximum torque is found, 400 revs higher. The rider will pay little attention to this, as the mechanics are less inertial. The Brembo braking components have been upgraded, and some timid styling touches have been added (tank badge, housing under the right boot, dashboard)

Very few aesthetic changes, and yet you think its lines have become slimmer? The passenger grab bar has disappeared. Lightening the rear end, both literally and figuratively, the loss of this accessory is unlikely to please duo riders.
Oops, the center stand has been removed too. As have the heated grips. To compensate, cruise control is now standard. Whether you like it or not is up to you. A small weight loss has been recorded, out of the 7 kilos the Bonnie claims to have lost. A lot on the new aluminum rims, a little in the engine, and the rest with the evaporated accessories.

Triumph 1200 Bonneville T 120 Black then, as now, it asserts a different nature. The Black Edition, as its name suggests, is black. But that's not all. The former Black series was limited to a single color. The 1200 is available in several volumes - all dark, but one flirting with gray. To mark its difference, the T 120 Black is distinguished by a brown seat and full-black details: rims, engine finish, exhausts, headlight surround, rear-view mirror and front mudguard retaining rods, foot controls and passenger footrests, and turn signal covers.

Powered in multiple displacements for decades, the 1200 represents a real break with the revival of the 2000s. Now a T 120, the Bonneville is no longer the placid, short-breathed machine with limited muscle. Equipped with a big parallel twin and a large cubic capacity, Hinckley's bike now sends out more than 10 mkg. Copious stuff! With a respectable 80 hp of torque. And there's a lot more to the bike than just a twin and a few bits of steel. On board you'll find traction control, ABS, a Ride-by-Wire system with two fuel injection maps (road or rain), an anti-theft system with coded key, an anti-dribble clutch, LED front and rear lights, and a USB accessory socket.

Manufacturer recall in the following countries: France, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland.

A combination of high ambient temperatures, high current loading and excessive lateral tension may cause the wiring between the alternator and the harness connector to form a bridge. As a result, the connector can deform. This can result in a short circuit, increasing the risk of fire, and creating a risk of accident.

Hello, I always enjoy your articles. However, the spelling sometimes leaves something to be desired...

Chapter Presentation: Avoir droit: droit is not granted. So don't write "ils avaient droient" but ils avaient droit. Sorry, but that really stings the eyes!

Hello, Indeed, an elementary school level agreement error. The error has been corrected, but there are still others. We're trying to do our best. Lighthouse call Rating : 4/5

I bought her for my 50th birthday. A real mouthful, it's really very beautiful. The comments of the bikers and riders I meet are all complimentary. My wife, at 1m65, has her feet perfectly planted on the ground. With my 1m80, my knees are a bit sore after a long ride. But what a pleasure to ride!
You can really feel the torque. With the sound that goes with it, it's a treat. This bike is all about smoothness and acceleration... But not in speed. It's not designed for speed. Its niche is cruising, up to 90-100. Forget the freeways. A very low center of gravity makes it a real bike, and turns follow on their own. The riding position is vertical. Not tiring for arms and back. However, if you want to ride with 2 people, you'll need to add a rear handlebar. I haven't had a chance to try out the ABS. The rain/dry mode effectively changes the engine mapping and adapts performance, which is reassuring.

This bike is really beautiful and great, I don't regret having it, it's a pleasure to ride every day and what's more, it doesn't consume any fuel
Just for fun, I'd like to try out Triumph's Speedmaster this summer.

For my 60th birthday my wife gave me a lovely Bonneville T120 Black \"Jet Black", it's a real jewel in every respect, I particularly appreciate the cruise control during long-distance and freeway journeys, as well as the other modern technologies.
It's extremely maneuverable and smooth, with phenomenal torque, and of course it's more suited to short trips than long motorway journeys!
A true marvel!
