presentation of the 700 Ténéré Extreme 2024
The problem is this rock, right in the middle of the path. On the sides, big rotten roots also pose a problem for the passage. So, either it rubs, or the wheel ends up on the ground. It's when you reach certain limits that questions arise... or models start to evolve.
The 700 Ténéré has an idea for overcoming this kind of stumbling block: to become more "Extreme" by stealing the suspension from its"World Raid" conjugate. A little transplant that may not look like much, but it adds 20 mm of travel on both sides. As a result, with 23 cm of travel on the fork and 22 cm on the shock absorber, the rider has more cards in his deck.
Logically, ground clearance increases in the same proportions. Between the ground and the hoof, the space stretches from 240 mm to 260 mm. OK, only 2 cm more on paper. But in the field, it doesn't take much to change the way you approach and/or clear an obstacle.
The suspension lines have gained in height, while preserving their adjustability. The Kayaba (KYB) offers preload, rebound and compression adjustment. The shock absorber gets the same treatment. Off-road enthusiasts can season their shock absorbers to suit the terrain.
From its 73-hp CP2 engine block, the 700 Ténéré offers a playful, alert vitality. Everyone will find this behavior on the Extreme, as on all the other Ténéré models. The five versions in the family ( Ténéré standard - Ténéré 700 Rally - Ténéré 700 Extreme - Ténéré 700 Explore - Ténéré 700 World Raid ) are all powered by the same twin-cylinder engine.
The T7 also features reduced electronics, an odd Dakar-style look, a 5-inch TFT screen, a double-cradle steel frame and 21 - 90/90 and 18 150/70 rims. However...

A bit like the mountains along our borders... It seems to have the chutzpah to take them on in earnest, while the manufacturer also offers a more touring Explorer version. Two editions to flirt with the rocks: one to provoke them, the other to drive around them.
