presentation of the YZ 450 F 2025
Yamaha gives new impetus to the 450, again with a rider-centric approach to development.
The YZ450F 2025 features new rear suspension links that improve stability in all riding conditions. In addition, new rear suspension settings help to improve the feeling of traction in corners and the feeling of grip at the call of jumps.
To match the rear modifications, the front suspension settings have also been updated, notably by extending the spring length to increase preload, changing the shape of the valves (from circular to more triangular) and increasing the diameter of the oil inlet bores to adjust oil flow. The result is a more stable front axle and improved handling. The modifications to the front suspension also provide the rider with a more even damping feel on all terrains and in all riding situations, particularly when braking and cornering.
The new front engine mounts have been designed to improve the overall balance of the chassis, in line with the suspension modifications, all to enhance rigidity and stability.
To further enhance the YZ 450 F's renowned reliability in prolonged use, clutch cooling efficiency has been improved, with the number of orifices supplying oil to the clutch plates increased threefold, from 6 to 18.
The riding experience has also been enhanced, with a new seat featuring a seamless cover, while new aluminum footrests provide a firmer hold on the chassis.
The commodo buttons are surrounded by a border to prevent riders from pressing the wrong button when wearing gloves. And to reduce friction on the rider's right thumb, Yam's big cross is equipped with a new type of throttle.
In line with the new FIM noise regulations for 2025, the 450's noise level is reduced thanks to a new exhaust system. And by optimizing the ignition and injection curves, throttle response has been improved for more precise riding. All these settings can be modified using the Yamaha Power Tuner1, allowing the rider to personalize the configuration of his machine by modifying engine and suspension settings to suit his needs.
New graphics complete the look for this new vintage, while those who want a machine in the colors of Yamaha's official MXGP riders can opt for the Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition.
