one bagger wasn't enough for Yamaha... So, for 2014, we're getting two. The 1900 CFD gets a little brother. A little brother? Well, not really. The newcomer has a cubic capacity of 1304 cm3, a fork head as wide as an avenue, and a Streamliner silhouette that doesn't go unnoticed.

its base is none other than the XVS 1300 Midnight Star, to which we've added the aforementioned components and a pair of body-colored hard cases. The result is a greater cruising capability without breaking the bank. Compared to the 1900 CFD, the 1300 gains more attractive protection with its high windscreen, but loses around 15 hp and 5 mkg. On the other hand, it costs less than 13,000 euros, or 5,000 euros less. Something to think about.

let's go back to the 1300's mechanics: its twin is a water-cooled 4-valve per cylinder, with fuel injection and variable ignition. Forged pistons churn in super-square cylinders. A mill delivering its 73 hp at 5,500 rpm, backed up by almost 11 mkg of torque at 4,000 rpm.
As with the 1900, Yam has filtered vibrations and uses the same type of double balancer as on the big Midnight Star. Each balancer is positioned on either side of the crankshaft, ensuring compactness. The XVS 1300's engine is also equipped with bearing-mounted valve rockers.

double cradle frame using the engine as a stiffening element, shock absorber hidden under the chassis, 298 mm diameter triple brake disc... There's no shortage of technical arguments. In 2011, Yam introduced its U.B.S (Unified Brake System) braking system on the 1300 Midnight Star (as well as on the 1900). This system improves braking by applying simultaneous force to both wheels, front and rear, when the driver applies the rear brake.

Importation
French Model 2014
In the States, a motorcycle from Star motocyclesYamaha is making a big splash. It's the Road Star, much more beautiful than this XVS and in direct competition with the HD Road King, the Kawasaki etc., but Yamaha has chosen to import this XVS. Of course, it's not expensive, so it'll be a Harley on the cheap... It's a pity, especially as the Road Star has existed on our roads, and many would like to see it again.
In the US, the Road Star Silverado sells for $15,000. That's the same price as the XVS. But the look is far more elegant!!!!
