presentation of the MT-07 Faster Sons par Shinya Kimura 2015
Yamaha's first collaboration with renowned tuner Shinya Kimura has resulted in the stunning "Faster Son", a testament to the philosophy of Japanese tuners.
For the "Faster Son" project, Shinya worked with the latest parallel-twin engine powering the modern Yamaha MT-07 range, finding inspiration in the powerful, torque-rich energy."I figured whoever built this engine must really love motorcycles," he comments.
"When I created the 'Faster Son', I wanted to give free rein to my desires without compromising the important functions of riding, stopping, accelerating and negotiating corners," Shinya emphasizes. "The engine is the fruit of Yamaha's new technologies; it doesn't look like retro engines adorned with beautiful cooling fins, but the overall design of thebike doesn't hide the new design facets or the nostalgic side; it makes a symbiosis of them."
"The reservations I feared I had at first proved unfounded, as it was a timeless design, but one that incorporated the best features. Whether you're using a retro engine or a modern one, both have one thing in common: a functional aspect given form. I think I've succeeded in creating a motorcycle that blends history, retro styling and modern technology, which promises a great riding experience."
