presentation of the Europa 125 1991
At the beginning of the 90s, Aprilia and Cagiva were battling it out on all fronts in the 125cc class: sports bikes, trail bikes, custom bikes, all styles were represented.
Sporty roadsters were no exception. But if Cagiva had opted for uncompromising sportiness by simply marketing a Mito without its fairing, Aprilia had chosen a slightly different path.
The Europa, although based on the general architecture of the sporty Futura, was conceived as a less exclusive motorcycle.
Comfort for the rider (and, incidentally, his passenger) was prioritized, with a rather thick two-seater seat and slightly higher seat straps. These modifications ensured a more comfortable riding position and less strain on the forearms, although at higher speeds, this benefit was greatly diminished by the absence of a fairing.
