On the border of winter, the Bauges, the Tomme à 40% and the Pont des Amours, Ateliers HeritageBike started making electric bikes a few years ago. But wanting to add to the French motorcycling landscape, with a slightly chauvinistic vision that's welcome, the Annéciens have developed the Spirit Scrambler. An electric motorcycle based on emotion.

This new machine was quickly noticed by a small car manufacturer, a certain Renault. To coincide with the presentation of its new R4 (descendant of the famous 4L), an alliance was formed between the two companies, resulting in a slightly modified version of the scrambler.

To underline the personality of the Renault 4, the bike features "Bleu Nuage" paintwork, a large 4 on the tank, a yellow lower fork crown, stylized headlights, a special seat and handlebar-mounted mirrors. It's a great way for Ateliers HeritageBike to promote its Scrambler.

An electric motorcycle that's different, authentic, with a design far removed from the modernism inherent in this type of vehicle. Here, the theme is Classic, with roundness, simplicity and a sense of elegance. From the looks of the technical solutions employed, the Heritage Spirit Scrambler is more of a fun-bike than a stylish all-round roadster.

Hasn't it just come out of a trip to the forest (Pré Vernet) with its big knobby tires? The geometry and rims are roadster-like, but with flanges 150 and 170 mm wide, the bike's dynamic behavior is quite pronounced. The front axle is particularly strong, with its power-cruiser bow, beautiful inverted fork and muscular braking. A 320 mm disc backed up by a 4-piston Brembo brake pad... for just 137 kg. The rubber will suffer.

the Haute-Savoie model is available with two engine options. A 50 equivalent with a 4 kW and 240 Nm block, or a 125 version with 7 kW and 280 Nm. As always with electric models, the torque is enormous, in this case greater than that of a Triumph Rocket III.
The propulsion unit is not in the frame, as on most electron models, but in the rear wheel. This is a singular choice of location for the Gem Motors element. In this version, the Scrambler can reach speeds of up to 99 km/h, and has a range of 110 km with its 4.8 kWh 48-volt battery.

The designers set out to create a high-quality machine. The specs confirm this, with a fine global cocktail: Brembo brakes (Italy), Excel rims (Japan), WP forks (Austria), EMC shock absorber (France), motor (Slovenia), Heidenau tires (Germany). But everything is assembled in France.

All this will make its presence felt when it comes time to write the cheque. It's not a sweet one... Almost 25,000 euros to ride this electric Scrambler. Which doesn't put it far behind the R4 revival we mentioned earlier.
