presentation of the DB9 BRIVIDO 2014
when Bimota enters the street-fighter segment, you can expect something exuberant, striking, violent and somehow untouchable. Only one of the manufacturer's roadsters, the Delirio, offered a taste of Bimota's flat handlebars. This DB9 Brivido now allows you to move up a gear, with more aggressive lines and a more aggressive boiler. Powerful and cut to the bone, the DB9 is nothing less than a DB8 projected into the roadster dimension. The filiation is obvious, but the lines are even tighter, bloodier and more aggressive. Particular mention should be made of the front mudguard, carved from flint, and the fork head, an artefact.
in addition to its increasingly distinctive styling, the small but well-known Italian brand once again stands out for its choice of materials and the techniques employed. Everything is beautiful, precious, noble and enviable. The frame alone will make you drool: a perimeter made of chrome-molybdenum tubing bolted to solid-cut aluminum side plates. The swingarm is designed along the same lines. Peripherals? Taken from a hypersport: Brembo 4-piston monobloc calipers, Extrem Tech shock absorber, titanium and carbon pot, carbon bodywork, OZ rims, Michelin Power One near-slick tires...
it's not all for show; you need more than just good gear to properly exploit the cavalry waiting in the bowels of the twin. DB9: 9th Bimota with Ducati engine. In this case, the 1198 of the Diavel and Multistrada, boasting 162 hp and 13 mkg. The nerve center of this desmo is an in-house Walbro injection system, programmed to give you a real kick. Put the key in, turn, open the throttle, and off you go for an unmitigated dose of thrills... the true meaning of this Brivido.
As with all Bimota jewels, the price tag oscillates between toxic and stifling. Expect to pay almost 26,000 euros for the basic version, rising to almost 30,000 for the 'carbon power' version.
