presentation of the BB3 1000 2016
since late 2015, the BB3 has been available as a kit. Once you've relieved yourself of some 23,0000 euros and acquired the sublime chassis, all that's left to do is buy the engine and the electronics that go with it. All of which adds to the pleasure of owning a rare machine, all the more so when it's built by your own hands.
The symbiosis of different elements can result in structures that govern existence. The living world is constantly seeking new paths; Bimota explores technical solutions aimed at offering a different, sublimated expression of motorcycling. An evolutionary parallel from which the BB3 was born, the apotheosis of the sports bike for the Italian brand. No Bimota before it was more powerful, and from this machine came the passport to a return to Superbike. With the heart of a BMW S 1000 RR, the Rimini-based firm got a big boost.
bB3 for the 3rd association between Bimota and BMW. The first of the line, in 1995, is a far cry from today's considerations: the BB1 was powered by the F 650 GS single-cylinder engine. Sporty and racy, it offered 48 horsepower on a quality chassis. The BB2 was only an interlude in the story, as it was only the prototype that later led to the BB3.
and this Italian is hungry for more. Bimota has put aside its passion for Ducati twins to acquire the services of an incredible engine. Renowned for its power and beastliness, the 4-cylinder engine here comes from BMW's hypersport. Taking advantage of the latter's evolution, the mill now develops 200 hp at 13,000 rpm. Maximum torque is a more than respectable 11.4 mkg at 9750 rpm. The dashboard also comes from the S 1000 RR.

The spirit is German, the identity is not. Although the design has clearly softened, far from the sharpness of a DB7 or a TESI 3D, a Bimota remains a machine apart. With a chassis that blends luxury and technology. The famous combination of machined aluminum plates and chromium-molybdenum tubular trellis has been adapted to the size of the Bavarian engine block. As a result, you'll have to forget the finesse of the DB7, DB8 and DB11. There are plenty of other things to console you. Like the sublime aluminum swingarm cut from solid, the numerous carbon parts (fairing, mudguards, airbox cover, sprocket cover, plate holder) or the top-of-the-range peripherals. A host of top names were invited to the party: Öhlins for suspension, Brembo with its M50 calipers for braking, and OZ Racing for forged aluminum wheels. The BB3 is not to be outdone when it comes to electronics. ABS and traction control are part of the package. Dry weight is stabilized at 179 kilos.
initiating a new breath of fresh air at Bimota, the BB3 boasts plenty of firepower and equipment as refined as the company's tradition. It also reconnects the brand with an old love of Superbikes. With the Alstare team, the beautiful and furious BB3 attempts the adventure of WSBK, with good rankings in the Evo class. An adventure for the small manufacturer, with passion and beauty always at the service of motorcycling haute couture.
