presentation of the R 1300 GS Adventure série spéciale 10 ans 2026
BMW is introducing a special edition of its R 1300 GSAdventure… “Very special” would be a more fitting description. Limited to just 10 units, this edition was created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its factory in Manaus. As you can imagine, this news has traveled a few thousand kilometers to reach Brazil.
The King's Fifth
So it was in 2016 that BMW broke ground on a new motorcycle manufacturing facility for the South American market. Since then, 150,000 bikes have been assembled there. Between this impressive production figure and the company’s 10-year presence in the region, the opportunity was too good to pass up—and that’s how this commemorative GSA came to be.
It’s instantly recognizable by its jungle-inspired graphics, applied to a Triple Black base. The side panels, the covers under the seat, and even the top case all feature this “Waikiki” style. The fenders will feature a numbered plaque to identify it as a “Limited Edition,” while the sound of the powerful 1300 is enhanced by a pair of Akrapovic mufflers. This Brazilian 1300 GSA also comes standard with the ASA automatic transmission.
Ten units will be produced to represent each year of operation at the Santo Antonio plant, where 13 models are manufactured. What other bike than the R 1300 GS Adventure could have better represented BMW’s presence in these parts? Although the Honda CG 160 best represents the country’s economy, it’s the big BMW adventure bike that one imagines tackling the Amazon. This vast forest covers 60% of Brazil’s territory—eight times the size of France.
From Rio de Janeiro to Grande
Take on what? A battle-hardened warrior, packing 145 ch, a chassis ready for any adventure, a 30-liter fuel tank, more equipment than a four-wheel-drive SUV, a substantial weight of 268 kg, and a desire to soar through the canopy if only it had wings.
