under a new name, BMW unveils a new lightweight, urban trail bike. The G 650 GS is the latest addition to the Bavarian manufacturer's all-terrain range. And yet, this machine has a taste of déjà vu about it. Not surprising, since it's a carbon copy of the old F 650. Same face, same technology, same bike. Except for one thing: the engine. It's still a single-cylinder, but it's now made in China, by the Loncin brand. Gone are the days of the Rotax.
This G 650 GS has a Chinese heart but a German body; the machine itself is made in Berlin. It will be offered at an attack price, but not everywhere. France won't be seeing this trail on its roads or tracks.
