presentation of the S 1000 RR Carbon Edition 2010
bMW is not taking half-measures to introduce its first hypersport. First, a full season in World Superbike to warm up... Then a Bol d'Or to work on your breathing... Then a slap in the face to the competition in terms of raw numbers. 193 horsepower, the highest value on the market. Why not go one step further?
that's what this S 1000 RR Carbon Edition does. No mystery, it's all in the name. The Bavarian is fond of carbon parts, namely the fairing, the mudguard, a few covers, the seat backrest, and the Akrapovic exhaust to complete the package. This little appendage allows the boiler to find even more vigor in the connecting rods. 10 extra horses and a little extra torque are added to the engine. Although it collapses at 4,000 rpm, the torque curve is then much fuller in the mid-range. Power is also up over virtually the entire rev counter stroke.
I haven't told you everything. Take a look at the machine to see if there are any little bonuses... And yes, HP parts. The recoil levers and controls come from Béhème's special performance catalog. DTC traction control, race ABS, alarm and shifter are also included. All supplied in racing Motorsport color. All that's missing is Öhlins suspension, and we'd have one hell of a rival for the Ducati 1198 R Corse, in terms of performance, luxury... and price. With all this, the S 1000 RR Carbon Edition is priced at 24,990 euros. Ah... I forgot to tell you that this special edition is only available in the Netherlands?
