with its K 1600 GT / GTL duo, deliciously driven by a muscular in-line 6-cylinder, BMW has opened up a new Premium niche. A blend of grand touring, refinement and speed.

a bit of cosmetics and a few technical modifications to define a subtly racier version: here's the K 1600 GT Sport. With more aggressive styling, a shortened windscreen, a sportier seat design and gloss black wheels, the machine gains in virility. There's no change on the engine side, with its distinctive smoothness, timid low-end thrust and enchanting mid-range performance.

this 3rd version of the K 16 competes with the Honda F6B... but on a more incisive note. To be enjoyed with a slice of road and a good piece of throttle.

i had several motorcycles 25 years ago: a Suzuki GS 850 G, a FJ100, a FJ1200, recently a BMW R1150 S, then a K 1300 GT. They're all great bikes, but the K1600 GT is the queen of motorcycles; its qualities are comfort, roadholding, hellish acceleration, braking, lighting, day and night, you feel really safe Rating : 5/5

10.000 km covered, no problems, lots of fun and, in general, a great deal of association, overall safety with an engine that's amazingly powerful, very good protection, top-notch comfort, but one black spot, the transmission...the sport version that interests me for its looks seems similar, but the windscreen is lower, so less protective.
it can be modified as an option.

i've just ordered the GT SPORT version, it's my second Bmv in 47 years of motorcycling and I wouldn't change my bike for anything in the world!
