presentation of the F 850 GS Adventure 40 Years GS Edition 2021
For those who want to go big, but are put off by the impressive size of an R 1250 GS Adventure, BMW has come up with the 850 in a smaller format. Like its siblings, it's wrapped in a special color scheme to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the GS... the first... the R 80.
A few pieces of sunlight were captured to scratch the face, tank and seat of this Adventure. With the hand guards as discreet as a construction machine, the apostrophic glance will be the order of the day for every observer. These 4 decades are not celebrated with special packs for each GS in addition to this escapade color.
The F 850 GS 40 years old costs barely less than an R 1250 GS, but it's easy to see why: the PRO finish is part of the festivities. It brings together all the optional packages available. These include a center stand, heated grips, tire pressure sensor, Keyless Ride keyless system, alarm, intelligent emergency call system, Up&Down shifter, pannier mounts, cruise control, ESA Dynamic semi-active suspension, GPS preparation and Pro riding modes.
There's more to this F 850 GS Adventure. Except that it's not specific to this 40th anniversary edition. It and the F 850 GS - F 750 GS gain LED indicators, a USB socket on the dashboard, Pro ABS and DTC traction control.
Pro Riding Modes see the 'Dynamic' configuration tweaked, gaining engine braking control and dynamic braking control. A right-hand handlebar control can also be added for the 4 Riding Modes.
GS too high? A new extra-low seat option and a new lowering of the suspension have been added to the catalog.
Spoked wheels , 95 hp twin (parallel), protective stature, large fuel tank and tubular sections to armour the edges, the 'medium' Adventure has the wind in its sails and a far-away eye. BMW is cultivating its premium image, with that zest for the horizon that has made the GS clan famous.
