Motorcycle specifications KTM890 Adventure R Rally 2021 The other side of the border

The 890 Adventure R has replaced its 790 counterpart. Produced in limited series, this hard-hitting trail bike is aimed at experienced enthusiasts with a wallet of the same size.
Like its predecessor, this motorcycle aims to be desired by limiting its distribution: 200 units for the USA, 500 for the rest of the world.
But that's not its only appeal. The Rally gains in equipment and potential.
It already benefits from the improved engine of the 890 R, which now develops 105 hp and 100 Nm (10.2 mkg) thanks to a larger-displacement twin. There are a few tweaks to the chassis, but the Adventure 890 R Rally keeps the best of it.
With its Up&Down shifter and 35% lighter Akrapovic muffler, the Katoche pays homage to its equipment, and announces a sportier profile. More intrepid above all, with 270 mm of suspension travel, 30 mm more than on the R - disadvantage: seat height climbs to 910 mm / advantage: ground clearance rises to 303 mm. That's about the same length as the keyboard in front of you. Crossings and surprises are more demanding.
For the shoes, KTM has chosen D.I.D DirtStar rims fitted with Metzeler Karoo 3.
To protect the fuel tank, carbon protectors are fitted on its belly.
Lighter, wider Rally footrests are fitted to better support the rider's boots.
To accompany the fork head, the small sports bubble has become transparent and is accompanied by small fins.
All these pros don't mean we've come full circle.
The original electronic equipment (three driving modes, traction control, engine braking, cornering + offroad ABS) now includes Rally Mode. This allows settings and reactions more suited to TT outings. All accessible via the 5" TFT screen.
From one year to the next, KTM has used the same recipe to produce its Adventure R Rally models. The main difference between the two generations is the increase in displacement and power. Decoration is the only facelift accompanying the mechanical transplant.
As for those who wish to accompany the rider, the KTM subtly imposes its will. Take a good look between the seat and the swingarm... The passenger footrests have disappeared.
Exclusive in many ways, the Rally can only be reserved via the Internet.
