presentation of the K 1200 LT 2007
no doubt scalded by the arrival of the Goldwing 1800, BM is dusting off its long-haul cruiser. Always with calm and pleasure, because the K 1200 LT is one of the most incredible vessels in motorcycle production. Little has changed in the BM's classy, majestic lines; the front mudguard has been modified, the chrome pack is now standard, and the BM signature (the double bean on the front, also found on sedans) has been replaced by an additional headlight. Gone are the counters borrowed from the brand's cars - an all-new, ultra-complete instrument panel sits right in front of the rider's eyes. A new look and the addition of a multifunction digital dial (not far removed from the i-drive system on the 5 and 7 series).
It's all for the better, but the biggest job is the one you can't see. The engine benefits from a number of improvements, and its power is increased to 116 hp. A touch more torque, a revised gearbox, increased caster and a new shock absorber:

I have braking problems and it's not easy to find an authorized repairer !!!
The electric pump works then lights up and loss of braking: we no longer hear the electric pump!!!
I turn off the ignition and put it back on: it starts again but very dangerous!!! Do you have a solution?
Another acknowledged problem: radio failure: only works on one side: it's not a problem with the connections, but the amp is out of order on one side: it's not normal for BMW to remedy this problem free of charge!..
Less trouble with the PAN EURO 1300 ..

i would like to know if someone who is short 1.60 m and who drives a 1200 lt, doesn't have too many problems at standstill concerning the position of the feet on the ground. Rating : 2/5 Respond to le nouveau

Only downside: be careful when stopping and in town
This is my 17th bike; I owned a K1200RS just before; this one is of course the best, and my wife agrees completely, although she's a bit confused at first, due to the position of the back against the top-case
The only problem is... I don't know what to buy now... I've done 13,000 kms in 8 months... only good memories
Best regards to all motorcyclists... the real ones who ride... cyclos, mopeds, motorcycles, sides, etc..

Nothing but happiness. It's almost too good, because I realize that I tend to drive a little too fast!
Which is a bit annoying
The engine below 2,000 rpm lacks torque for its displacement and vibrates, creating resonances in the fairing. The rear brake, which screams when it's hot and you brake gently with the pedal in town
To compare with the 1500 Gold I had before
The + safety (roadholding and braking), comfort (seat, "heating" and especially suspension), fuel consumption (6.1 L over 12,000 Km doing city riding every day. Never less than 8 L with the Gold)
The - Enjoyment of the 6-cylinder (silence, smoothness and torque), trunk volume, sound quality, ease in town at low speed (turning radius and center of gravity lower on the Gold). Rating : 5/5 Respond to olivier
What happiness this bike despite warnings like: "you're a girl, it's too heavy, too high...."
The only complaint so far is the noisy rear brakes, despite BM's replacement of the rear discs and pads
The saddlebags, too, are less practical than on the 1150 RT. Nothing fundamental and a real pleasure to ride in all weathers
Bonne route à tous
