BMW has prepared a whole series of 1250 GS bikes for a selection of riders taking part in the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy in Albania. For the occasion, 126 GS bikes have been modified to meet the needs of the competitors, and the world's best-selling trail bike is set to hit the rocks in this 8th edition.
The event is not just a rally-raid for the unfortunate, but a real challenge in which the GS can express its full potential, and enable participants to discover the many facets of adventure with a capital A. No question of going in sneakers, suits or mixed tires.
This R 1250 GS is ready for the challenge with well-calibrated equipment: starting with the "Style Rally" version and its spoked wheels, BMW has fitted Karoo4 tires, which are more effective in difficult terrain. The headlight is fitted with a transparent plate to combat stones and splashes. The most important parts of the bike receive their share of protection. Generous crash-bars for the cylinders, cylinder-head covers, an aluminum shoe for the lower engine and the indispensable duo of handguards. Even the TFT screen has been reinforced.
The small sport windscreen provides a clear view, while the seat has been modified with a Rally-style saddle. An additional 5-liter bag at the end of the tail allows you to carry cereal bars, a few tools and a bottle of Raki. An Akrapovic muffler will give the big 136-hp Boxer some extra stamps
Unfortunately , only GS Trophy participants will have access to this optimized version. As a publicity stunt, this color will be added to the 2023 collection of the big GS. This two-tone decoration, with partner stickers on the tank, is a real eye-catcher.
The International GS Trophy runs from September 4 to 10. Indiana Joneses are in for a treat.
