Motorcycle specifications Cagiva125 MITO SP 525 2012 GP School

the Cagiva 125 Mito is undoubtedly one of the most effective, and most sulphurous, of the small Italian sports bikes. Many of today's great racers have honed their skills on this machine, while others have bitter memories of the more-than-random reliability of this highly advanced machine. But all have fallen for its old-fashioned plasticity, copied from the legendary Ducati 916.
never retouched in its 916-type design for almost 15 years, the Mito underwent its biggest evolution since 1994 in 2008. What's immediately noticeable is the new face, with its bulging eyes separated by 2 central forced-air intake openings. The rounder styling and breather snout may not ring a bell... but GP 500 fans will recognize it as the face of the C594 that flew the Cagiva colors in Grand Prix racing in the mid-90s, notably in the hands of John Kocinski. The rear section has also been redesigned, with a tauter look, finished off with an LED light, indicators and a plate holder ready to be removed with 2 blows of a screwdriver (the call of the track).
like all Ducatis, the Mito is an authentic sports bike, barely civilized for the road. It's a machine of passion that demands a lot: you'll need a good budget to buy it, a lot of maintenance and a close eye on the mechanics.

I'm a motorcycle enthusiast and more specifically a 125 cm3 Cagiva mito motorcycle since I already had a moped when I was young and I know what I'm talking about. I would like to know if this motorcycle has a choice of fairly common mechanical parts or if it's out of fashion Rating : 5/5 Respond to micka C
Like you, I'm a great 2-stroke enthusiast and the proud owner of a mito limp 7
Like all Italian cars in good and due form, it very often breaks down (electrically).
Parts are very difficult to access !!!!
Electrical parts are no longer mass-produced and have to be found on second-hand sites, with the risk of defective parts...
Fairings are hard to find..
Consumables (spark plugs, oils, chain kits, air filters, wheel bearings) are common and can be found everywhere
Finally, engine parts are readily available, even when new! At a significant cost!
No dealer available anymore... Rating : 4/5 Participate in the conversation
This sounds like a letter of protest, well, I'm giving this bike top marks, because it's a missile, you fall in love with it straight away, because of this bike I have a phobia of tightening, which prevents me from ever riding a two-stroke, but never mind, I'll always remember the first kick up the arse it gave me, as a little beginner on a 125 4-stroke.
Cagiva mito forever and ever Rating : 5/5 Respond to Dezmou
mine, 7-speed gearbox, carbon pot, worked like a charm, and pushed my 75 kilos to a good 180 (odometer), about 170 real, once again for a 125, and what a chassis, what a face, since then I've had a 748, the same one in big lol and what a sound!
but if I want to ride it around a bit without being afraid of crashing it, I'd go for a mito again, even if it means leaving the nice ducati aside for show, even if the big one also kicks ass on the racetrack, but it's not as expensive to crash Rating : 5/5 Respond to Pistard en
Over 200( mito counter ) finger in the noise Rating : 4/5 Participate in the conversation
i broke it after 14000 km (like on tzr and rs )
i had the engine rebuilt it cost me the skin of my ass and after 90 km of running in, rebuilt and complete engine at the expense of cagiva who had their ear to the ground to recognize the defective parts. although I'm super maniac with my mito, you're not safe from a breakage so a piece of advice if you're a BOURIN ride a 125 CBR? you'll look like you're riding a bike but at least you won't break!
see you soon! Rating : 5/5 Respond to dgege
Mito to recommend... on circuit and with mechanical staff! for the others, I recommend the RS... Rating : 5/5 Respond to RAPH
For the mechanics, I know a real specialist (he must have 5 or 6) who can advise you. You can reach him here: stenprepa@freesurf.fr Rating : 5/5 Respond to Charly
i have a mito '99 kit 175 double ignition,55hp very reliable and 210 lap time. and i always laugh when i drop a bouze...heuu a RS. it's the perfect 125,very powerful even in 125 free, not recommended for beginners
maintenance is at the same level as performance=it's heavy stuff, but you have to know what you want. an F1 car isn't reliable either, but it'll take everyone's car away
if it tickles your fancy, go for the boite7 version with less than 20,000km. Rating : 5/5 Respond to choconoise
Either the bike has a 15 sprocket and a crown with 10 extra teeth, and calf-like acceleration, or the guys are just like the bike... MITO !!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to MNasty
et je m'envole mais le seul probleme c ke faut investir car c sur c une moto pa tre fiable, mai ki te donne des sensasion superbes pr une 125, je la conseil a tous !!!

i was able to test 2 125cc models, the RS and the mito, both of which are at war with each other lol I feel much more confident on my little mito which fits me like a glove lol I also own the 2000 model and the difference in power is very noticeable against the rs...on the other hand the aprillia has a much smoother engine :-)

If the previous version of the mito was more powerful, it was due to the 7 gears and the 34 carburetor..
Considering cagiva's reliability, I chose an rs 125. Which with some modifications is more powerful than a mito
I advise you to look here ;)

on my model (2004), it's a 6 and not a 7 gearbox, so I advise you to change the gearbox output pinion from a 14 to a 13, the difference in acceleration is clear on the first 3 gears and you won't lose any power by changing to the 6, especially in strong headwinds
if you're looking for a complete line, the only ones I've found are from "gianelli" Rating : 5/5 Respond to dgege
it's a real bomb, after a debridage and the purchase of a silençieux "ninja d'aprilla rs":adapt easily by just drilling a hole in the mounting flange, I take a good 180
It's expensive to buy and maintain, but there's no better 125 on the market at the moment (especially not aprilla rs)
i've been riding a 125 for 15 years and I don't regret my purchase Rating : 5/5 Respond to dgege
