presentation of the 750 SR-S 2026

CFMOTO is rolling out new models left and right. The brand has figured out how to make a splash in the most competitive segments, with prices that hit the mark and appealing models.

The SR series—that is, the sports bikes from Hangzhou—is getting a boost with a 750cc 4-cylinder model. And now, enthusiasts from a certain era are getting excited. Is this the return of the 750cc Superbike craze? A new track bike like the Kawasaki ZX-7R, Yamaha YZF 750 R, or Suzuki GSX-R750 of yesteryear?
Let’s calm them down right away! CFMOTO is introducing a sport bike, not a track bike: the 750 SR-S.

It’s not bad-looking at all, by the way. Its style is very similar to that of the 675 and 450 models in the same lineup. The lines are sleek, elegant, more muscular than on its siblings, and perfectly distinctive.
We were just recently praising the fact that major Chinese brands were now valiantly cultivating their own style and no longer copying their competitors’ designs. With the SR-S 750, that’s no longer quite the case. While the rear end has plenty of character with a beautiful aluminum single-sided swingarm and four high-mounted exhaust pipes, this highly successful design is borrowed from Italy—a perfect mimicry of the MV-Agusta 1000 Brutale roadster.

Not what you’d expect

Let’s see what this beast has under the hood. The main specs would make you think of a Japanese engine: inline-four, DOHC, 16 valves, liquid-cooled, super-square bore and stroke of 72 x 46 mm—almost enough to unleash a flood of horsepower at high RPMs.

Except that this engine isn’t looking to go overboard. It delivers 111.5 horsepower at 10,250 rpm. An average output, even disappointing for those who’ve experienced the 148 horses of the latest generation of 7½ Gex. Torque peaks at 8.2 kgf·m, and the engine benefits from a forced-air system that adds just over 3 hp beyond 150 km/h. The rider can therefore expect to tap into nearly 115 hp and reach the claimed top speed of over 230 km/h.
For the road, this power is more than sufficient. The manufacturer actually classifies this bike as a sport-touring model; racing is the domain of the 675 SR-R; but even that model falls short of the ambitions of a SuperSport.

Chinese motorcycles closely follow trends, especially to create a native, immersive experience. The 750 SR-S features winglets to stabilize its front end at high speeds and air ducts in front of its brake calipers to improve cooling—solutions that are almost unnecessary given the expected performance levels, but visually, they give it a sport-racing look.

Does it offer anything more?

CFMoto would have been better off investing in an aluminum frame (its current one is steel) and focusing on the bike’s weight rather than aerodynamic gimmicks. Excess weight is the main enemy. At 213 kg on the scale without fuel, this 750 isn’t exactly a brick, but a sport bike worthy of the name and this displacement should stay under 200 kg. The brand still has work to do... except that given its engine’s performance, the power-to-weight ratio, and its focus more on sport than racing, one wonders if the brand needs to improve or if its choices are intentional and deliberate. It’s true that now, they no longer sell the GSX-R750 but the GSX-8R.

True to its Chinese heritage, the SR-S 750 is not stingy with equipment.
- No frills and sufficient for active safety: featuring angle-sensitive ABS and traction control, two riding modes, and a shifter (active only when upshifting, due to the absence of ride-by-wire).
- More feature-packed in terms of comfort: on board you’ll find a large 6.2-inch color TFT screen, Bluetooth, tire pressure monitoring, adaptive cornering headlights, a keyless ignition system, a steering damper, a power-assisted clutch, automatic turn signals, an emergency brake light in the taillight, and USB ports.

A proud aluminum single-sided swingarm, a steel tube frame... and what about the suspension? CFMOTO turns to Kayaba (KYB) for a 43 mm inverted fork with adjustable compression and rebound damping. The rear shock absorber can be adjusted in the same way. Braking is handled by Brembo, with M4.32 4-piston calipers over 320 mm discs; the rear features a 240 mm disc and a 2-piston caliper.

An Alternative

When considering the CFMOTO 750 SR-S, don’t mistake its target market. There’s no question of it going head-to-head with the Honda CBR 600 RR, KTM RC8-R, or MV Agusta F3 800. Instead, it’s more likely to take on the CBR 650 R, Yamaha R9, Zontes 703 RR, or QJ Motor SRK 800 RR. If the price stays in line with the brand’s other bikes, we can expect a formidable challenger.
For now, there’s no indication that this bike will be targeting the French or European markets—more information regarding its availability in different regions around the world should emerge this fall.

Hello, what's the point of this motorcycle on our roads, where the speed limit is 90 km/h and enforcement is strict? Rating : 4/5
Very nice bike. I find it quite interesting for its value for money, I could be tempted. My only regret is that it's only a shifter up, BUT NOT a more practical shifter up and down. If this could be rectified, it would be great. Rating : 4/5

The CFMOTO is a bomb, but the power rating is not bad and a kicke shiffter up down would be cool. Rating : 4/5
There's a shifter up, but for it to be down, you'd need a Ride-By-Wire throttle Rating : 5/5
