Motorcycle specifications CFMOTOTR-G 1250 2022 China deploys a flagship

with the 1250 TR-G, CF Moto has set itself quite a challenge: to compete with the BMW R 1250 RT! Incredible. All the major brands have attempted this challenge... and ended up giving up. It's also a powerful announcement. China is clearly moving upmarket, breaking its image as a factory for small and medium-displacement motorcycles.
It 's a young majesty, already concerned about its image. As is often the case with products from the Middle Kingdom, it may be criticized for bearing a marked resemblance to a segment benchmark. However, we're obliged to go further than a simple copycat idea. The big TR-G draws some of its lines from the reflections of the 650 (not sold in France), but with more rigor, elegance and presence. It looks well-built and solid, with an obvious concern for finish. No loose wires or rough assembly; seriousness at every level - CF Moto has taken care of its GT to be taken seriously right from the start.
The wide front panel promises protection from head to kneecap. We have our doubts about the lower legs, as the lower part of the bike seems less generous in terms of covering. On the whole, function seems to go hand in hand with style, the latter being signed by Kiska - Matighoffen's pencil.
The same is true of the engine. The alliance with KTM enables the Hangzhou-based brand to offer a valiant engine. And not just any engine: the big twin LC8, which was developed for the RC8 and whose evolution can be found in the Superduke and SuperAdventure. Adapted to 1279 cm3 by Sino-engineers, it delivers a hearty 140 hp at 8,500 rpm. With so much horsepower, prejudices and memories of Chinese motorcycles with little power and not very noble engines are shattered. The torque is also satisfying, reaching 12.23 mkg at 7,000 rpm.
Another surprise, but less pleasing, is that the final drive is provided by a chain. A rare solution in this category, where universal joints are almost unavoidable.
Like any good GT, it promises a good range with a 23-liter fuel tank.
The version we discovered is equipped with Marzocchi suspension, with rebound and compression adjustments. Electronic damping may be available as an option, this time from WP (to be confirmed). A steering damper is hidden beneath the lower tee. At the top is a Magura hydraulic clutch control. At the other end of the hose, the clutch is equipped with an anti-dribble system.
what does the TR-G offer in the way of electronics? Perhaps not as much as the BMW , but there's already a good deal on offer. Both in terms of active safety and comfort. On-board equipment includes heated grips, height-adjustable windscreen, cornering-active ABS, four driving modes (Race - Sport - Street - Rain), traction control, tire pressure monitoring, hill-start assist, cruise control, keyless ignition, USB sockets and a huge 12.3-inch color TFT display. The latter offers infotainment, navigation, phone management and several display themes.
The CF Moto 1250 TR-G will find the BMW RT in its path, as well as potentially the Benelli 1200 GT (not yet planned for France). Faced with the German, it will have to demonstrate excellent dynamic qualities, high-caliber protection, serene reliability, long-lasting quality and superlative touring pretensions to tip the balance. Many touring enthusiasts will be tempted to discover these qualities, as the TR-G is likely to be very hard to beat in terms of price. Based on the Chinese price and adding taxes, we estimate that it will be offered for €5,000 or €6,000 less than the Behemoth. However, it will have to comply with the Euro5 standard. The 1301 block of today's Superdukes has recently done so - this 1279 has a Euro4 badge and should be able to move up to the next level without too much difficulty. If all goes well, we can look forward to its arrival in 2023.
