presentation of the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak 1160 2025
Although the top of the Multistrada family is now the RS model, Ducati hasn't given up on the Pikes Peak. And rightly so. Its sportiness is more "homogeneous" - the RS has a more impetuous temperament, with its Panigale engine. Rest assured, there's a big stable in the V4 Granturismo.
And no one would dare doubt it, given the aggressive styling. Since 2011, this line has been ostentatiously sporting a racing-style livery. The 2025 version tries to be a little more discreet with its number plates, but maintains the MotoGP trend. Ducati shines brightly here, so why deprive yourself?
A Pikes Peak shows its tonicity with its war paint and its choice of teaser parts. Like the titanium and carbon Akrapovic exhaust, the smoked bubble, the Ducati Corse logo on the mouthpiece, the V4 logo embroidered on the seat, the front mudguard and the carbon snout.
But the main attraction of the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is the modifications to the chassis for a sportier ride. The trail side is replaced by a "big hypermotard" approach, with 17-inch wheels. And not just any wheels: Marchesini forged aluminum. Their design evolves towards 5-spoke split rims. We're particularly pleased with the rear, with its much-appreciated single-spoke design. An eternal nod to the 916. Only the angriest Multistradas get it.
The rubber sizes, Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV, are also much more suited to muscular riding, with 120/70 and 190/55. The rider is naturally invited to be more offensive, with a reworked driving position in this sense: the handlebars are lowered, narrower and less curved. The footpegs do their utmost to give more ground clearance, with a higher offset and more rearward.

Heavily loaded with electronics, the MTS Pikes Peak now offers EBC engine braking management with 3 intervention levels, as well as combined braking - the lever grip also acts on the rear caliper, with modulation managed by the on-board system.
Let's take this opportunity to take stock of all the on-board features:
- DVO function with simulation of 70 sensors
- Traction control (boosted by DVO)
- Wheeling control (DVO)
- ABS cornering (DVO)
- Engine brake management
- Power modes
- Driving modes
- 6.5" TFT display
- GPS navigator
- Keyless entry system
- Up&Down shifter
- Adaptive cruise control
- Hill-start assist
- Adaptive cornering lights
- Backlit instrument cluster
- Semi-active suspension
- Radars
- DBL flashing brake light in the event of hard braking
- Daytime visual signature

Oh, by the way, the radar... Let's go back over its added value. What's it for? Well, to warn you when you're getting too close to a car in front of you (indicator on the dashboard), or when another car has stalled in the blind spot (small light in the mirrors), and to install adaptive cruise control.
The Pikes Peak weighs 2 kilos less than the standard Multistrada V4. The difference rises to units since the V4 S. At 227 kilos, is it lighter than its predecessor? It's hard to say. Ducati weighed the previous version at 215 kg dry and 239 kg fully loaded. From now on, the weight is displayed ready to ride, but without petrol. Let's not quibble, it should be measured by a handful of pebbles.
It won't be the chassis. Ducati extends the highly accomplished features of its speedy trail bike, with its aluminum hull frame, Swedish damping, sturdy Brembo Stylema brake shoes and large 330 mm discs.
The Pikes Peak V4 phase 2 subtly gains in style and efficiency while preserving its fundamentals. A true sports car on legs, not really reasonable, but you'd think so when you're interested in it!

Race mode
Electronics maximize engine and chassis performance, releasing the 170 hp of the Granturismo V4 engine and all the benefits of Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension. Traction Control and Wheelie Control are kept to a minimum, and cornering ABS is set to Level 2, allowing controlled rear-wheel lift to fully exploit the braking phase, even on the racetrack. The flirtation with the shifter occurs more gradually than on the Multistrada V4, to alert the rider in advance and enable more efficient sporty riding in terms of gear changes in the high rev-counter zone. The shifter features a dedicated calibration that enables very aggressive downshifts, as well as an even more direct throttle-grip linkage with High Power Mode.

In this riding mode, the bike delivers maximum power (170 hp) with particularly responsive throttle response and sporty suspension settings. Traction Control and Wheelie Control intervention is slightly more conservative than in Race Mode, while ABS is set to Level 2, allowing controlled rear wheel lift to maximize braking performance.
Touring mode
In Touring mode, throttle response and V4 power delivery are smoother and more progressive. ABS is set to level 3, giving the rider a real sense of security thanks to rear wheel lift detection, cornering ABS functionality and optimized combined front/rear braking effect. Suspension settings ensure both support and comfort, limiting rider and passenger fatigue over long distances.
Urban mode
In Urban mode, power is reduced to a maximum of 115 hp, and suspension tuning ensures agility in the face of urban obstacles such as speed bumps and manhole covers. DTC and DWC are set to high levels for maximum safety in all possible road conditions, while ABS is set to level 3.
New Wet mode
Wet mode is designed for driving on low-grip surfaces, particularly in the wet. This mode limits maximum power to 115hp, with a particularly smooth throttle response (Low Power Mode). The preset level of electronic controls is set to deliver maximum stability and optimum grip.
