presentation of the Diavel V4 2027
The first Diavel debuted in 2011, featuring a powerful, growling twin-cylinder engine and an ambitious goal: to be a high-powered roadster with extravagant styling and muscular presence, coupled with unmatched agility. A “Muscle Roadster,” as Ducati calls it.
2023 brought a whole new dimension, a different character, and even more power with the arrival of the Granturismo V4 engine. Some time has passed, without the competition really reacting. Ducati isn’t resting on its laurels, however, and is updating the Diavel V4 for 2027.
Minor Redesign
The Diavel is already spectacular simply by its presence alone. That’s enough to encourage Ducati to take it easy on the tweaks. The only elements that have truly been updated are the side air intakes—borrowed from the high-performance RS version—the radiator scoops, and the wheels. Paradoxically, these updates make the bike look even more understated.
Subtle design cues are evident on the headlight cover, the seat cowl, and the exhaust tips. As a result, the new version doesn’t make the old one look outdated, adding a touch of freshness and that little something extra that sets yesterday apart from today. The Diavel V4 remains an expressive machine, embodying power and class—muscular, provocative, and distinguished. It’s even meticulous about design down to the last detail, with passenger footrests tucked away beneath the rear section.
The V4 as a backup?
The appeal hits the mark; the engine is the real deal. Although the Diavel V4’s styling is a real showstopper when you first see it, the engine is what keeps you hooked. It’s carried over exactly as is, with no technical modifications or performance upgrades since the previous model. No need—that would be just for show. With 168 chevaux and nearly 13 mkg, it’s more than enough. A true street dragster, capable of leaving many bikes in the dust and impressing yet another group of riders in the corners.

They haven’t touched the V4, but they’ve tweaked its management system a bit. An update provides a smoother throttle response at low and mid-range RPMs.
Smoothness on a machine like this? What a ridiculous idea! But we’re not going to criticize Ducati for regularly fine-tuning the performance of its engines.
The shifter features a new internal design: a mechanical linkage system replaces the usual microswitch lever, resulting in gear changes that feel more direct and with a less pronounced “stuck marshmallow” effect.
On-Board Experience
When a miniature movie screen first appeared on the ’25 Panigale V4s, it was only a matter of time before such a display made its way onto other sport bikes. Not to be outdone, the new Diavel V4 has made this dashboard its own. At 6.9 inches, it’s the same size as an iPhone 18, except it’s narrower due to its 8:3 aspect ratio.
The display places the essentials in the center, including the tachometer and current gear. The left section handles settings and navigation/multimedia controls. On the right, it focuses more on the bike’s parameters (speed, fuel level, engine temperature, etc.).
There are a few nice little features, such as standard turn-by-turn navigation, a USB-C port, and a graphical interface that alerts the rider when traction control or wheelie control is engaged.
The Powerhouse
The Diavel V4’s massive power can be intimidating—which is often exactly what riders look for in this type of bike. Just in case, the electronics are there to keep an eye on things. As withthe previous version, the Ducati features DTC EVO 2 traction control, DWC EVO wheelie control, 3 power modes, 4 riding modes*, a DPL EVO launch control system, EVO cornering ABS, cruise control, and the DQS Up&Down shifter.
Another highlight is the onboard system. The feature set is impressive as well, with keyless start and locking, a DMS multimedia system, cylinder bank deactivation when stationary or during light riding, dynamic turn signals, a stopwatch, backlit controls, Bluetooth, smartphone pairing, and a “coming home” function—the headlight stays on for a few seconds after the ignition is turned off.

The Diavel V4 is far more exciting thanks to its chassis, with its massive 50 mm inverted fork, a 240 mm rear tire as wide as the road, Brembo Stylema brakes to grip 330-mm rotors (no less than the braking system of the older Panigale V4s), a single-sided swingarm as sturdy as the devil’s fork, and fully adjustable suspension; and, though not visible, its aluminum monocoque frame.
For its new batch, the Diavel V4 is equipped with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires. They offer more neutral handling. Plus, the combination with the new rims promises more effective dynamics.
Continuity to Maintain Aggressiveness
Demonstrating caution while still being capable of unleashing its fury—that’s how the Ducati Diavel V4 II approaches its evolution. The goal is to avoid watering down a design that remains striking. Baudelaire said that the devil’s finest trick is to persuade you that he doesn’t exist; the Diavel prefers to assert it loud and clear.
The Diavel V4 expands its color selection. Red—a must-have—and a whole range of colors—available for the standard model and extensive for the S model, which is part of the Factory Made program. The S model also features semi-active Öhlins suspension, heated grips, machined-spoke wheels, and a Li-Ion battery.

- Sport riding mode
-The Diavel V4 unleashes its 168 ch with a direct and punchy response. Intervention by Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Wheelie Control is kept to a minimum, and the ABS is set to level 2, allowing for controlled rear-wheel lift to maximize braking performance while maintaining cornering ability. - Touring riding mode
-Maximum power remains at 168 ch, but power delivery becomes smoother and more progressive. DTC and DWC are increased for better vehicle control. ABS is set to level 3, providing a greater sense of security thanks to active rear-wheel lift detection, optimized combined braking, and active cornering function. - Urban Riding Mode
-Power is reduced to 115 ch (Low power mode) with a particularly smooth and progressive response to handle constant changes in road surface. Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Wheelie Control are set to a very high intervention level, while ABS is set to level 3. - Wet Riding Mode
-Designed specifically for riding on low-grip surfaces, it limits maximum power to 115 ch with a particularly smooth throttle response (Low power mode). The preset electronic control level is adjusted to ensure optimal stability and traction
