presentation of the 125 COGUAR 1999
following the exponential growth of the 125 sector, Gilera is relaunching itself in the motorcycle market. After almost a decade's absence, and spurred on by Piaggio (new owner), the brand with the rings is playing it safe by offering a flagship product in the 125 segment: a custom. Gilera's custom doesn't stand out from the competition. It's a trendy model with good arguments: lots of chrome, a friendly face, double-stage seat and teardrop fuel tank. The engine, a single-stroke Honda 4-stroke, isn't impressive but gets the job done with a certain enthusiasm. It's not a fan of high revs, as evidenced by some unwelcome vibrations. Small details such as the neiman coupled to the ignition switch, or the storage compartments on the sides, are welcome. The Coguar falls short when it comes to comfort. The saddle and suspension are not exactly smooth. At the other end of the scale, the brakes could do with a little more attack. Nothing to worry about, however, as the handling inspires confidence. Good ideas in a machine that only lacks softness.

When I bought mine from a Yam dealer, it had a leaking spee gasket and they changed it
On the other hand, I can't figure out how much oil to put in my chain
Otherwise, the bike is nice and pleasant to ride, as long as you don't try to rev it too hard. Rating : 5/5 Respond to kikivroouu
