presentation of the XL 1200 V SPORTSTER Seventy-Two 2015

after teleporting us to 1948, would the Sportster 1200 take us to 1972? Absolutely not! Although Harley goes to great lengths to bring nostalgia to its models, the Sportster Seventy-Two doesn't look back to the 60s. Its mini ape-hanger handlebars, chrome debauchery, board seat and advanced controls are inspired by the ambiance of early choppers. The spirit that runs through the metal and chrome is that of California. And 72 is the name of a 25 km-long Los Angeles road, best known for its gatherings of custom culture enthusiasts.

like the vast majority of Sportsters, the 72 offers more safety for the Sportster 48 since 2014: the manufacturer has added its HD Smart safety system, enabling keyless ignition and ABS as standard. A number of changes have been made to the braking system. New calipers bite a larger front disc (300 mm), while the rear disc (260 mm) remains unchanged. The aluminum master cylinder is also new, for less friction and more feel. The Sportster also features a new electrical system, with redesigned controls and a switch on the left to navigate the new speedometer display. The exhaust and oil tank have also evolved.

sparkling, full of panache, the Sportster Seventy-Two is a breath of light in the Harley-Davidson universe. What a look! The front end is light and airy, the stern marries itself to the road, while the engine seems to want to live its debauchery alone. In addition to the ubiquitous metallic highlights, the 72 is not lacking in styling effects, such as its spoked wheels with white edging on the tires, the fuel tank and the front grille.s on the tires, the peanuts tank with its ridiculous capacity, the minimalist mudguards, the very flat solo seat and the handlebars 1.10 meters off the ground.
To move its quarter-ton, the Sportster relies on its 1202 cm3 twin delivering almost 10 mkg of torque. A 30-year-old block that has evolved over the years to give the biker that typical Milwaukee taste.

French Biker 04 Model 2016
Very nice, very powerful bike, because it was fitted with a complete Stage 1 from a Harley-Davidson dealer. The only drawback is that there are too many electronic gadgets, although complete, but full of microchips, which makes it essential to go to a dealership whenever you want to remove or move a part on the bike, for example, move the indicators or the speedo. This creates a fault that then has to be removed, and if you're not an electronics connoisseur, you have to go to a dealership.but we all know that's the price you have to pay for riding a Harley, it rhymes, doesn't it? otherwise, we're very satisfied with this beautiful bike, which we use for pleasant outings, either solo or with my wife cdlt à tous . French Sonyba Model 2012
Hello everyone,

The most common complaints about this model are :
1) Comfort
2) autonomy
3) The engine, which is muffled from the outset

Comfort: after bringing the bike home for 580km in one go, I can say that I've had no complaints (although I am young).

Autonomy... I must admit that at the beginning it irritated me, because every 110/120 km I'd have to go to the gas station, so stops at the pump are frequent, especially when you're a kilometre-hiker like me (but it's becoming a habit and doesn't prevent me from making very long journeys if I'm careful).

As for the engine, it's well and truly choked to death, it heats up quite a bit and has a nasty noise from the outset, but you have to understand that in 2014 the anti-noise, anti-pollution, anti-everything ^^ standards are demonic, and to pass these "tests" with an air-cooled engine, Harley has no choice but to throttle on quite a few points and allow the engine to heat up very quickly in order to meet the standards.

What's sad is the price of a Stage 1 (to free the beast and finally get the Harley noise that is often one of the reasons we buy). I was asked to pay close to 2,000â'¬... that's a lot to add to the purchase price.

The handlebars are too low for my taste, and a 15/20cm rise wouldn't have been bad for looks and comfort, even if we thought the opposite before testing.

There are also some plastic parts that really stand out on a harley costing over 10,000â'¬ ! I think that's an insult on harley's part. And 2 or 3 less serious finishing touches.

The paintwork is top-notch (and they all seem to be). I don't feel the weight at all with my metre 69, I find it a bike both on the road and at a standstill, even on slopes I have no problems, unlike other much lighter bikes I've had.

It's also disconcertingly easy to handle, and a joy to ride once you've freed yourself from the bike......

Top Bike
This bike is the best! And it annoys me this kind of guy full of HATE FOR LIFE who can't even IMAGINE FOR ONE SECOND that someone could love something other than them in life! Hey \"NEUNEU\": Even with a big tank, I used to stop every 60 km BECAUSE I LIKED IT THAT WAY, I WOULDN'T CHANGE AND NOBODY WOULD HURT ME! There's no question of having a big tank between my thighs either: Between my thighs, I only accept "little butts"! Have a good trip and whatever your preferences: I RESPECT THEM FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART (me)!

French Moustique Model 2013
The dream arrived on 23.07.2013... my first Harley, the 72! It's super feminine, not too heavy and easy to handle once you're aware of its weight and where that weight lies. The engine is perfectly suited to a cool, relaxed ride. Its retro look is a real eye-catcher, which is always nice. It's best not to ride in the rain, or you'll have to scrub for too long. Now comes the real fun: customizing.... My harley, a real pleasure! Rating : 4/5
French Alfredomoto Model 2012
I'm a 60 year old neuneu (42 years of riding) and my last one was a 72 the other day I did 1300km in 4 days the range may seem ridiculous but it's perfectly manageable on the whole it's just a matter of reviewing the copy otherwise it's a great bike but it takes some time to appreciate it at its true value Rating : 5/5
French jimyh Model 2012
jolie brele très jolie, mais niveau tank 8L c\'est abusé. surtout que d\'après H-D massilia, elle fait du 6,1L au 100. en gros tu fais du 90kms en conduite normale.
But with the installation of a 12L tank and the red candy paint job, you're looking at 1,000 to 1,200 euros. You might as well take the 1200 custom and make 2/3 modifications.
personally, i'm hesitating between the street bob and the wilde glide.
Pepete, I'm sorry for you if it's the gauge, but your idiot took you for a ride... if you want my opinion, it's not the road harley.
There's a 72 STG1, I can't even imagine the fuel consumption. This bike without a 12L is just a big rip-off if you ask me, or for dummies who don't know a thing about dummies. no offense, of course, far be it from me to suggest that

i've just done my first km with my seventy two, with a full tank I've done 34 km and the reserve light comes on, which isn't normal, it must have a bad setting and I'd like to know more about its consumption and the number of km before the light comes on
