presentation of the 1745 Road King FLHR 2020

The Road King has opened up a new road with the Milwaukee Eight. Available in Standard or Classic versions, in hard or soft cases, this Tourer combines travel with a certain simplicity and an engine full of promise. It's an ode to the open road for lovers of this machine, which exudes the spirit of deepest America. It leaves it to the other models in the Touring range (Street Glide, Ultra Limited, Road Glide, etc.) to use and abuse appendages to perfect the journey. More humble and traditional to the point of simplicity, this machine lends itself perfectly to cruising, with its mane protected or its hair blowing in the wind, the choice being made in an instant thanks to the easily removable windshield.

There's no Boom Box multimedia sound system, no GPS, no MP3, no Bluetooth, nothing to sweeten the ride. Everything is shared with the motorcycle, just like in the old days.
Tradition doesn't have to mean immobility. Even if the Road King hasn't changed fundamentally since it first appeared in 1995, MoCo has steadily added the improvements that time and technology have sprinkled on Harley's production. Today, this cruiser carries the Milwaukee Eight twin-cylinder in its 107 ci version. A ninth-generation block, far more striking than the Twin Cam it replaces. More displacement (1745 cm3 in total) but above all more technology. Two spark plugs and 4 valves per cylinder, greatly reduced vibrations at idle, much better breathing, more muscular acceleration and much more torque. The Road King now boasts more than 15 mkg of muscle. It's almost as strong as a CVO, and the rider will appreciate it time and again as he rides along to the asynchronous rhythm of American bowls. and equipment to appreciate as you cruise the highways. The triple-lens design features Daymaker LED headlights, spitting out 986 lumens (equivalent to a 75-watt incandescent bulb). The rear shock absorber, with its short 76 mm fork, transfers forces directly to the back, but the suspension is air-assisted. The Brembo brakes are coupled by the REFLEX system and can be relied on to reinforce the ABS. The H-D Smart immobilizer, cruise control, 49 mm forks and inimitable styling are all part of the package.

It flies over the miles even better, having recently been fitted with an M8 engine and new suspension. The shock absorbers are emulsion units, simpler to adjust preload and more stable over time. They are by Showa, as is the 49 mm fork featuring SDBV technology. It should offer greater efficiency and linear damping. Cruising can also be appreciated in the little details, such as the long running boards, the wide handlebars, the beautiful instrumentation anchored to the tank, a selection of chrome, quality paintwork, and sensations that only an American with a wing badge can provide.

Like all good Harleys, it comes with a substantial weight (375 kilos - twice that of a KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R), a generous 1625 mm wheelbase, and a muscular entry ticket. Criteria quickly forgotten by brand enthusiasts.

French Mike Model 2018
This 4th roadking satisfies me even better than my previous ones, with the new 1745 cc engine, smoother and more powerful than the old ones, and the new chassis, more comfortable. This bike is timeless, and it's a shame that the standard and classic models were abandoned after 2022 for the unique special, a stripped-down model with no chrome! Rating : 5/5
Que du plaisir
French JMarie Model 2019
After a 2017 Street Bob, I bought the RK in 2019.it's a pleasure to ride this bike. it's well balanced, with stage 1 it's responsive. The torque makes it possible to cross a roundabout in 3rd gear with a good recovery. For sound, I fitted it with MCJ valve mufflers, and to date it has clocked up over 29,000 km on the odometer. The original windscreen suits me very well, and I don't experience any turbulence even on the freeway (I'm 185 cm tall). This bike is no longer in the Harley catalog. I'm going to keep it for a few more years, and I wish you all a pleasant ride. Rating : 5/5
French Liptonhex Model 2017
Super bike I had a Deluxe 1690 stage 1 and I passed to the road king 107 what of happiness it rubs more it is also handy and madam is with the angel and just with a pair of silencer for a little more sound without stage 1 it pushes hard. Rating : 5/5
French Albert Model 2022
If you want to travel with two people, all you hear about is the BMW GS or other trail bikes. I had a 2008 GS 1200 and switched to the Road King 2022. Well, the Road King is superior on 90% of roads, in my opinion. And in tight mountain bends, it's disconcertingly easy. You don't feel the weight, the engine has punch and I ride more relaxed. My partner is delighted with the comfort backrest on the top case.
I really recommend this bike.

For your information, my Road is equipped with a top box and comfort seat for my passenger
We drove from Switzerland to Italy and Corsica and back.
This bike is very well balanced and rides perfectly in mountain hairpins. The freeway isn't exactly ideal. The Road's windscreen is less advanced than that of the Electra or Glide. The wind swirls around a bit at high speeds. But as I avoid motorways....

Une moto de rêve pour voyager
French Dan Rider Model 2018
Forget the destructive vibrations, sluggish acceleration and undersized brakes of the motorcycles of the '80s. Harley has done its homework, and the Road King, which has continued to evolve (for the better) since 1994, is now a comfortable, powerful motorcycle that holds the road and brakes properly. Less heavy and more maneuverable than an Electra, the 2018 Road King offers simple yet comfortable riding pleasure and, above all, timeless styling.
No stress when cornering in the mountains, no cold sweat when overtaking, and braking to match. For taking off with the missus and luggage
at a leisurely pace, but not only...!
