presentation of the CBR 125 R 2015
with each mutation (this is the third), the youngest CBR changes radically. First a copy of the CBR 600 FS, it became a CBR 600 RR clone, and is now jealous of its CBR 300 sister, unless it secretly envies the VFR 1200; but always with a shadow of the CBR 1000 RR behind the silhouette. Whatever the case, it was time for the little sports bike to renew itself. To offer the same ease of use in a more modern, more appealing package. And for 2015, one of the dresses on offer is nothing less than Marc Marquez's official MotoGP deco - no mean feat!
and it's true that the fairing, the V-shaped optics and the more plush shapes give it a certain charm. It could be mistaken for a bike in the higher segment. Its speedometer, taken from the ex 250 , is also better made than the previous generation. For 2011, the youngsters' sports bike has been fitted with wider tires - 100/80 and 130/70 - which give it even more allure. It's true that the previous 8 cm and 10 cm wide tires looked like the gumdrops of a moped. The short (and voluminous) exhaust is also in keeping with Honda's new identity. An oxygen sensor and catalytic converter make the 125 CBR a little less polluting.
the technical elements are the same as those of the previous generation. A double-beam steel frame, a 31 mm fork, 2 brake discs to stop the machine (276 mm at the front and 220 mm at the rear). Only the mono has lost a little power in 2013: its half-horsepower reduction brings watts to 12.76 hp at 10,000 rpm. On the other hand, little attention has been paid to fuel consumption. A little work on the fuel injection and a modified final gear ratio should make it a little more sober. Incidentally, the fuel filter has been moved to the outside of the fuel tank for easier access.
all is not rosy, however. Weighing in at 137 kg, the CBR 125 R cru 2011-2015 is 10 kilos heavier. Outch! Well, what's 10 kilos??? Carry a 6-pack of 1.5-liter Coke for 400 m and you'll feel the difference. This stoutness puts it on a par with its main rival, the Yamaha YZF-R 125. But if you keep its price under control, the CBR 125 R still has a bright future ahead of it.

There is no 'cartridge' type oil filter on the CBR125R but a sieve near the oil pump accessible by removing the right side housing (clutch side). It only needs to be cleaned every 20,000 kms (if necessary) Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation

It's equally at home in town or on the freeway.
Having tested a number of models, I can tell you that this is the best !

The 2015 model is a jewel! For a taste of "real" riding, go for it if you're still undecided. It's a motorcycle. Period! Happy riding! Rating : 5/5 Respond to PierrotMot
I finished the break-in 400 km ago, so I can finally give you some objective feedback on the bike.
It's a very good bike, it wants it, it gives it. The engine is available at all revs, although most of the time it's at its best between 9,000 and 10,000.
It's not afraid of the freeway, with 130 easily accessible, and even when it's windy, the bike defends itself well (admittedly there's a slight slowdown, but that's normal for a small 125).
All in all, the bike is excellent, except for the gear selector, which was a bit "snaggy" during the break-in period, but once the 1000 km were up and running and the overhaul done, it went smoothly.
There you have it, and on that note, bon route...

i'm looking to buy my 1st motorcycle... what's blocking me is my handicap, basically I don't have a lifter on my left foot. it's hard to shift gears... so I'd like to know if it exists with the gear selector on the right?
thanks in advance. Rating : 5/5 Respond to astro

so the 2015 repsol models are available from you.
Do you know the other colors?
Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
The different colors are the tricolor white red blue of the year 2014 (it has not changed)
Then the black metallic asteroid (which would be an all black model) then the new repsol
So much for information. :-) Rating : 4/5 Participate in the conversation
I plan to buy the black model if it is available at my dealer.
I'll let you know when I've broken it in ;-)

This little bike exudes reliability, although I did have a few problems with vibrations on the cowl and fairing, but these were easily solved (a washer to eliminate the play on a screw and a bit of double-sided tape). That's all there is to say on the negative side, as it has a good chassis and good performance for a 125, with no fear of 130km/h, or even 140km/h in certain favorable conditions. I've had comments from bikers who thought they were following a 500 or 250 on the road.
But the downside is that it pushed me to take the big cube licence earlier than planned, and you quickly become a two-wheeler addict on a machine like this ;) Rating : 5/5 Respond to Moon
This is not a spark plug. It's a lambda sensor which, depending on the oxygen content of the exhaust gases, enables the ECU to adjust the engine's richness.

Either too expensive, or not as good!
I've ordered the repsol! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Valentino46
The average fuel consumption is shown on the official Honda website.
The weight gain isn't that noticeable, since it's spread over the whole bike, and the engine is a hair more powerful (and with lower fuel consumption) than the old model. Rating : 5/5 Respond to AAA
