presentation of the VTX 1800 C 2001

A big custom bike with an upside-down fork, that should be enough to give you a hint. Once again, Honda hits hard and overturns established values. The new twin powering this power cruiser measures almost 1,800 cm3. An enormous mill that belches out no less than 106 hp and a whopping 16 mkg of torque. Figures normally seen on machines prepared for drag racing competitions. Such a block needed a few adjustments to prevent it from spinning out of control. The big twin is equipped with balancing weights, and is mounted on silent-blocks. For added safety, braking is handled by the CBS system. Transmission is via a universal joint. Sitting low to the ground, it's pleasant to note that despite its substantial weight, the machine is welcoming.

the riding position is not surprisingly defined, typical of a custom bike, but contrasts with the enormous potential of the engine. Arms out, feet forward, lulled by the singular suppleness of the twin, you almost forget to be careful... Turn the throttle firmly and the VTX shows its true face. Horsepower surges forward with a savage thrust, leaving many a machine, even sportbikes, in its wake. With more torque than a Hayabusa, this custom bike will challenge any throttle enthusiast. Measured at 201 km/h but capable of 220 km/h, the VTX commands respect. It's a pity that so much power can't be used for long trips; the seat ensures comfort, but the non-existent protection limits ardor, as does the reduced ground clearance. But honestly, what's a dragster-custom made for? Surely not to be a sweet little tourer...

hello all 1800 enthusiasts
i would like to find the vibration problem of my vtx 1800c 2002
it shakes when I accelerate instantly when it goes into torkage mode
it's coming from the engine for sure it's obvious
the gas tank starts to vibrate
the seat begins to vibrate and all that happens when he reaches cruising speed when he's not forcing it becomes smooth and enjoyable
quesce qu\'il a quand il force légérement????
i wonder if it wasn't designed that way from the factory
my vtx has a power commander and hypercharged but according to the previous owner was never calibrated on a dino
would that be the problem?
thanks for your help...

Hello everyone
I bought my VTX 1800 new in May 2002.
It has 88,000 kms today.
I like it as much as the first day.
Honda maintenance since always.
Never a breakdown
I'm on my 14th rear tire.
We often cover 5000 kms in 3 weeks in August, and the rest on rides between spring and autumn.
This summer, we're off on a little road trip: Normandy, Provence, Italy, Giens, Bassin d'Arcachon, Normandy.

i've been riding an 1800 vtx for three years now, and I'm very happy with it. it's unbeatable comfort for the long distances I cover, and there's no pain in my shoulders or buttocks. the starting power surprises a lot of my friends, and it's also great for recovery. the only thing I regret is the range (approx. 210 kms) and the noise every time you change gear! it's a great bike to try out. I used Vance and Hines big shot staggered. You have to order the same brand of quiet baffles, otherwise you'll get angry with all your neighbors...and the cops! And what's more, there's a real gain in torque!
I had mine imported from Germany for 630 euros.

I've owned this bike for two years. I bought it second hand with 3500 km. 05/2003 model. I changed the pots that I had brought from the US. COBRA pot type, the noise is sublime but be careful not to accelerate in front of the 22. enormous acceleration since the change because the throttle is released. Sometimes it backfires, but that's not a problem. Overall, a good machine. On the other hand, tires are a problem because you can't get them in France. Obliged to go abroad and correct delay (5 to 6 days) Think of keeping a set in advance. A+ et bonne route. Rating : 5/5
i've owned a VTX 1800C since 2002, and I like it for its power, both in acceleration and stopping distance, BUT what I don't like is the short stroke of the inverted fork, the sloping riding position (due to the handlebars being too short), the front lighting is inadequate, I've installed a "bosh" which, in my opinion, defines the lighting area better, and finally the suspension is too stiff for a lightweight like me (60 Kg.), the machine is made for "heavyweights" Rating : 5/5
French Graffic Model 2002
I've had a VTX 1800 for 2 years now, and I haven't been disappointed, quite the opposite;ground clearance is low, but you can't forget that this is a custom bike, and it's a pleasure to enjoy the twin's acceleration;braking is perfect (for a custom bike).apart from the "glonk" when shifting into second gear and the slightly muffled engine noise (easily remedied), I can't find any fault with this machine
in my opinion, of all existing twin-cylinder power cruisers, this is the one that gives the most thrills.

i've owned this vtx 1800 for 3 weeks now, and my opinion is rather divided: nice look, but high fuel consumption, short range with the 130 to 140 km reserve, at low revs the gearbox slams a bit, but great flexibility above 80 km/h
don't attack in traffic circles, or too bad for the footrests.

Super engine torque, you can go 70km/h in fifth gear with no problem, the pout! pout! and the vibration is delectable. With pipes vances & hance a power commander and a hipercharger, I now have 123 hp in the engine. This is the bike that gets the most power out of the dino with so little modification ( VTX 1800 C ). Its big muffler is a real plug for power. The only hitch is that the rider's pedals rub the asphalt at the drop of a hat. Accustomed to racing machines, I often overestimate the steering angle and the footrest rubs when I'm a nanan child, but luckily it rises high enough for me to be able to turn corners every time. I can't wait for the Suzuki B KING!!!! See www.vtxoa.com for VTX information.

DISCOURAGING GEARBOX, ESPECIALLY AT LOW REVS BETWEEN 20 AND 60 KMH, EITHER WHEN YOU'RE UNDERDRIVING OR AT HIGH REVS WHEN YOU'RE IN A DUO AND CLIMBING A HILL, YOU SHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR AS YOU GO, BUT AS SOON AS YOU LOCK THE SECOND GEAR IT'S ALREADY TOO LATE, AND YOUR ENGINE REVS ARE ALREADY TOO LOW, RESULTING IN DISARRAY...
